Carter Hart to Edmonton will happen for cheap and long term. I think it'll be seen as a perfect fit. Those crying about it are the same people who don't watch hockey and agree with Cherry being canceled.

If he signs in Edmonton…..the league will genuinely crack down on the Oilers even more so to the point where the refs will actively make even more calls to screw the Oilers over or HEAVILY favor the other team.
Carter Hart is less proven than Skinner. It would be a step backwards or even at best. It would also bring negativity to the teams, which isn't needed.

People who bring morale and politics into this, should look down-south at who leads the country and how much more that personality is 'tainted' compared to Carter Hart. And most Oilers/Albertans are also republicans, so get off your high-horses and stop throwing stones at Carter Hart, acecpt him and give him a chance! We can get the cup with him in the net!
the lateral moves of Hart are sci-fi for Skinner. All Edmontobn Media keeps repeating for years, that Skinner is young and yet to peak, that is a pile of sh.t. Skinner does not have the IQ to defend properly, period. What Carter Hart has shown particularly in the areas where Skinner is weak, will change the face of the Oilers defense!
What Edmonton needs is a proven superstar who doesn't choke in the SCF!

I have been saying that we would be the most likely team to sign him would be the oilers and I've been saying that we should sign him ever since he was found not guilty and I do believe he has been practicing so he can make it back into the NHL
I wouldn't mind a one year deal at league minimum, making him a UFA at the end of the season, that would make it low risk. Also the Oilers do like to have "project" players, even management. Bowman, Kane, MacTavish to name a few. If they don't get Hart, how many of the other 5 are defense again?
I would certainly sign him if it was possible (don´t trust Skinner at all) but it looks like he is searching for the a team outside of Canada. Hopefully he changes his mind and sign with us.
The biggest reason to sign with the oilers is that their organization doesn't care if you're a scumbag or a skeeze… all morally dubious people are welcome in edmonton, it's part of the culture 😀

Carter Hart is a better goalie than Skinner. If you ran the both of them you’d get similar numbers but the playoffs are what matters most. Carter Hart has the pedigree to win it all, something that I think Skinner lacks. If it wasn’t for Pickard then Edmonton was golfing after the first round. The bottom line though is I DON’T THINK that Hart would sign in Edmonton. I believe that he wants out of Canada and that he would like to remain anonymous in some big market in the the USA

The oilers over the years have brought in player who were written of and needed a fresh start like McTavish Kane kassian to name a few. He was found not guilty end of story. Bring him in let him be a third goalie and see if he can be the guy.

"Not guilty" does not mean "innocent".
The victim in question did not testify. At the bench and under oath she would have to re-live the events in question. Have you heard about the train game or train line? It's a line where each man takes 'his turn', one after another and not necessarily in the same place, if you know what I mean. It's not that Carter Hart is INNOCENT. It's that he was found not guilty under the charges. These men, who harmed a woman deeply (Post Traumatic Stress) and very personally, would join a team and because EVERYBODY knows what they did (The NHL is a small group and people talk) they would be a cancer in the room. It would not be a good idea to bring these people into the fold unless the TEAM is okay with it and the Oilers look like they are not. That tells us something about the damage these men did because Hart would almost guarantee a cup. A goalie is all that's missing, IMO.
