Leddy was placed on waivers by the Blues, then the Sharks claimed him just like Barclay Goodrow.
Im confussed , WHY wont larouqe play again , like entirely no hockey or just not with the habs for a few years
I thought san jose pays 2 mill for the year, mtl paid 5.5 mill and leaves insurance to cover the rest
BONUSES on top of having made millions while being ""retired"" half a decade. What a joke.
I honestly cant believe that people have respect for this 💩.
"Hab for life" yea I bet!
While milking that franchise as long as possible.
Money.
Putting Carey on LTIR would have meant another season not operating below the cap. It's just more difficult to do anything. Now they have 4-something million and a lot more wiggle room to make a move that addresses a need.
For San Jose, it's also money. For just the minimal real money that they'll have to pay Carey out, they get a 5th-round pick. They had like $20mil in cap space before this (but were slightly above the cap floor I think) so paying barely any real cash & $10.5mil cap space for a 5th was their way of putting that cap space to work for them with essentially not much else to spend it on right now. Plus Jesse made a great point about actually being able to trade guys now without going under the floor.
I kinda thought SJS would get a little more, honestly, but I guess.
Why? Because the sharks acquired the greatest goalie in there franchise history of course
Price is done playing, why are still talking about him honestly? Dudes been out of the league for a minute yet we still talking about him 😅
Consider it Price making one final epic save for the HABS.
Crazy that Carey Price’s contract gets traded out the same day as Ken Dryden passes away.
Tough day for the historical Montreal goalies.
Sharks legend Carey Price. I'll always remember him as a Shark first
San Jose does this so trade deadline they can be above the cap while trading guys plus they will only pay 800,000

5000% mate.
I cant tell you how close I was to buying it a couple weeks ago.
😫🤢
This was just to get up to the cap floor and to open a roster spot for the 2nd overall pick Misa and signing his ELC.
As of this season teams don't accrue cap space anymore. All cap calculations are on a full season's cap hit. Which means teams can no longer exceed the cap space by accruing caps space and acquiring prorated contracts to stay under the cap.
The Canadians can have 20 million at the deadline. But the cap in the playoffs is still 95 , and contracts aren’t prorated on that anymore.
Time for more trade trees…?
Anyone trying to beat the Sharks to the floor this season is bringing a knife to a gunfight lol
Nick Leddy was a waiver claim, not a trade.
Mike Grier is playing 5d chess and we're all going to be sorry in like 3-5 years…
The guys love to shyte on the Hawks (which I get), but the pipeline is deep with talent (especially the blueline) and I think that over the next two years there are significant strides. Hawks have really only been rebuilding for 3 years – so this isn't a Buffalo/Detroit wandering around in the mushy middle.
he goes to the sharks because you can't dump your contracts to phoneix anymore
The Sharks were above the floor before Price, but with Price they have the breathing room, like Jesse is saying, to them make trades later
Sharks Legend Carey Price.
Habs making all the right moves!
These are the least knowledgable people talking about sports lol
Misa just signed elc
We giving all them draft picks to Pits for Sidney Crosby at end of the year so that we walk all over the Leafs again and make Leafs fans shed more tears.
Even tho will probably not play sharks can least maybe do some merchandise sales jersey sales or anything that they have to offer and price could be a spokesman for the company to anything he wants to do for San Jose Sharks
habs went through a rebuild before leafs could get to the conference finals 19/67 rage bait though
