The Detroit Red Wings didn’t make any huge needle moving moves this offseason, they were relatively queit as the market had little to offer. But despite staying mostly still, FanDuel projects the team to regress, with their point total set to 83.5. Did they really get worse? Also, Detroit is getting 17 National TV games. The new Red Wings got new numbers too. #LGRW

Let's not sugar coat things. The Wings are probably going to be meh standings-wise next season if Yzerman doesn't make a big trade.
TV time probably associated with 100th
We will make the playoffs, the rebuild is over, and next year we will be in the top ten in the NHL,and 3 Rd in THE East, because both Boston and Tampa, and Pittsburgh will through longer rebuilds than we did!!!!!!!!!!!
Let’s face it. We will finish between 8-6 in the division and will stay that way for many years to come until some REAL roster improvements are made.
I suppose I can see the argument, in that few people are going to credit a team that hasn't done much of anything yet. My own opinion is that a whole lot of people are sleeping on just how much internal improvement is possible with their young players. Seider, Raymond, Ed and Kasper are all very good players and are only likely to continue improving. There's really no reason their PP can't be just as lethal as last season and their PK has to improve.
The 17 games probably comes primarily from the 100 year celebration + Kane + Larkin for 4 Nations + Seider / Raymond / ADB. We have an entertaining team.
Sens/ habs wait and see… both young teams… and if we're being honest… the habs had so many games last year that they saved in OT or only won by a goal difference, I don't think they'll consistently perform over 82 games again here. If they do, good for them. But I also remember last year , crossover with the habs, they were sure to finish last… so wait and see what the season brings, but we need a push from younger players… last year the team seemed so unmotivated, except for shine's first few games, and Mazur's one game.
PK and team defense is just going to be the biggest factor.
Being a Red Wings fan I never stop believing in the team. There are 5 young players on the team and in the pipeline that are absolutely going to be stars when they come of age (mid to late 20's) and 3 that in my opinion will be superstars. For example Edvinsson was a plus +12 D man on last years team. Let that sink in, a plus 12 with that D and that goaltending? I've never seen a giant sized 22yr old kid skate into the slot like he can. Such a graceful skater, he's like a swan out there. We got Raymond and Kasper, can't wait to see how much they improve this year. No one expected Moritz Seider to be so good so young either. That pick by Yzerman kind of spoiled a lot of too anxious Red Wings fans. They don't all develop at the same rate sorry! John Gibson and a full year under coach Todd McLellan get us in this season for sure. Just have to avoid those 2 really strange 7 game slumps they had last year.
