The Canucks Forward Group Might Surprise EVERYONE This Season

Although the Canucks failed to address their biggest need this offseason, there is still hope that Adam Foote can squeeze enough goals out of his forwards. Today’s video is part one of my three part season preview. I’ll go over each forward’s expectations and present my opening-day lineup!

  1. In the latest Jake DeBrusk interview, he said Petey don't like him no more, kind of annoyed of him. So I don't think we will see Jake and Petey on the same line. Jake said he probably tried a bit too hard on trying to get on his good side. I'd say move up Hoglander but there's 2 players already there. I think we trade Blueger, someone else for Max Domi. Chytil can move over to the wing. Sasson and Raty can fill the bottom lines.

  2. I don't understand how fans look pass Elias Pettersson skill. He has all the tools for being part of the Canucks greats

  3. hopeful at best… but unless Hughes stays healthy and has another career year, the nucks will likely be shit

  4. Hoglander is the only one i believe can have a redemption. The rest will be the same

  5. I’m confident Petey will bounce back because I don’t think he would make these comments if he wasn’t serious

  6. Dude, you are my spirit brother. We drew up the exact same line up. I think you must be brilliant haha… Except!! Instead of Sasson as the extra forward, for a while now, I’ve had Bains pegged as the extra, but now I think Kravtsov is more likely to start the season as the first extra forward

  7. Good job! Agreed with all for the most part, especially the first line. Load it up and get all 3 players going especially EP40.

  8. Sick video man. You and DeanerHD are my favorites. I appreciate you and thanks for the video.

  9. They had a nightmare season with injuries and drama and still just barely missed the playoffs.

Of course they can do it this year.

  10. You guys are delusional, one year you won the division on over inflated shooting percentages and somehow you think that’s the norm for this group. The Canucks are underwhelming their center depth is brutal, have an injury prone goalie and one good defenseman. 6th in the division seems reasonable

  11. One of the reasons I subscribed to your channel is your obvious passion for and knowledge of the game. Keep up the good work.

  12. I would think with Demko's injury history, this would be a perfect opportunity to bring back the Trap, and Adam Foote should be the right coach to implement it. He's played it as a defensive defenseman in that era. If they want to protect their goalies, it might be a good idea, and they have the defence core to get it done.

  13. Valid point regarding Kane. The Canucks certainly lack grit so if Kane can bring that it's a big plus. Pettey is an absolute weapon in top form.

  14. Wish I shared your optimism, but the reality is we have no real idea how things are going to go. Last year was a train wreck with injuries and drama, the year prior was (IMO) our best shot to win it all and we came up short (a few players having career years.) Quinn will need to do A LOT of heavy lifting again this year to drive the offence.

Petey will be around a PPG again, but even then, our centre depth is average at best (and it could go from that to worse if Chytil goes down with an injury) and our top line lacks foot speed quite notably. I'd peg us at right around WC2 if things don't go sideways like they did last year. We need more game breaking forwards, Petey is not enough to carry the rest of the forward group – he needs help.

  15. Pettersson needs to be the playmaker. Not skating around the easy areas once the zone has been gained, waiting for that pass. He needs to be like his second year, where he made plays happen by speed and skill, and drew players to him allowing for much more open ice. We dont need Petey vesrion 3.0. We need the original playmaker and shot taker. We need Petey with 10 pounds more muscle, and that passion to make the play and carry the puck. We need Petey version 1.2

  16. Loving that third line. I could also see Sherwood and Karlsson switching spots on the right wing so Sherwood and O'Connor can use their straight ahead speed and toughness while Hogs, Raty, and Karlsson can create some playmaking offense against some weaker lines while Blueger's is more defensively minded.

  17. Canucks are done. Petterson is like building around Marner. Both the same type of player, both immature.

  18. We've got decent skill but I'm worried that we're undersized and not very physical (Sherwood excepted of course) but we need more than one or two physical guys. We need everyone on the team to play more physically. The NHL has changed over the years but it hasn't changed that much, it's still a full contact game.

  19. I think Hoglander was a guy that suffered from not being a coach's favourite and under the microscope for every little bad thing he did. He did a lot defensively and worked hard on almost every shift. Him and Petterson don't get the credit for their defensive play and all th focus is on their offense.

  20. News flash here, didn't watch the video just straight to the comments. Canucks can not win with this weak swede! Stop trying to gaslight the people

  21. Probably only a handful of players in the league could get 100 points with the wingers Pettersson will have but everyone will blame him

  22. it really doesn't matter what the Canucks do they still won't win a cup or even make the playoffs

  23. his english isn't the strongest. i think it was more like he meant he was going to have a bounce back year and cool off the rhetoric.
