During his freshman campaign, Hagens demonstrated remarkable playmaking ability, accumulating an impressive 37 points, 11 goals, 26 assists, placing him third in team scoring behind only Ryan Leonard and Gabe Perro. Standing at 5’11 and weighing 190 lb, Hagens is poised to emerge as a central figure in the Eagles offensive strategy during his sophomore season. But here’s where things get interesting for Bruins fans watching the development pipeline. Securing the second position is Fabian Lysel, who finally broke through to make his long- awaited NHL debut with the Bruins on December 28th before earning another callup as the season concluded. The 2021 firstround draft choice has patiently developed his game through three seasons in the American Hockey League. During his brief NHL appearances, the 22-year-old Swedish forward displayed tantalizing glimpses of the impact he could potentially make at hockeyy’s highest level. This is the reality for the Boston Coup Bruins who have a deep pool of promising personnels waiting in the wings. But here’s where it gets interesting. After development camp wrapped up, racket, the time has come to unveil the top 20 prospects in the Bruins system. And this is the part most people miss. The process of narrowing down this list is no easy feat as it requires excluding prospects who have already played at least 15 games with the Bruins such as Matt Pitus and Michael Callahan as well as free agent signings this off season who could be coised for greater roles in 202526 like AHL standouts Mate Bluml and Alex Steves. After rolling through the rankings from number 20 to 11, it’s time to dive into the top 10 list of Bruins youngsters to keep tabs on. Starting at number one 10, we have Chris Pelosi, a forward who is arguably one of the top underclassmen in college hockey down the stretch in 2024 to 25. Pelosy’s stats are impressive with 11 goals and eight assists in his final 23 games. And if he can prove that his second half surge was no fluke, he could project in a middle six role. Bruins scout Parker McKay praised Pelosi, saying he put on a solid 10 lbs last year. He’s taking pucks to hard areas, and he also values his defending, and that’s certainly the pieces of his game that we value. At number nine, we have Frederick Brune, a defenseman with size and playmaking abilities. Brun had a standout season with Providence, playing heavy minutes over 69 games while adding five goals and 20 assists. He needs more seasoning in the AHL. But the Quebec product is likely the first blue liner called up when the injury bug inevitably hits. The number eight spot belongs to Georgie Murculov, a forward who has been productive in the AHL but needs to prove himself at the NHL level. Merculov has 70 goals and 109 assists in 201 career games with Providence, but his speed and processing ability have often been behind NHL pace. He reuped on a one-year contract this off season, but if he doesn’t make the team out of camp, he’ll have to clear waiverss to be sent back to Providence. At number seven, we have Dean Lerno, a center who checks all the boxes the Bruins should covet. Latero had video game stats with 127 points across 56 games against prep competition at St. Andrews College in 2023 24. But he struggled in his first season at Boston College. Despite his lackluster production, Laterno has said and done the right things this off season and Bruins player development coordinator Adam Mcuade praised his attitude saying he honestly handled it really well. There were days of disappointment where he felt like he could and wanted to impact more. The number six spot belongs to William Moore, a center with a steady two-way game who could project as a middle six regular if his offensive talents continue to mature. Moore ranked second on the US national team development program U8 team with 59 points in 64 games last season. And if he can stuff the stat sheet at Chestnut Hill, he has the makings of a very useful second line center. At number five, we have Will Zeers, a forward who is a potential middle six scoring winger. As the Boston Bruins gear up for the 202526 season, they are determined to improve upon their disappointing performance from the previous year where they finished with one of the league’s lowest records at 33 wins, 39 losses, and 10 overtime losses. Despite some players achieving personal milestones and even setting career highs during the 2024-25 season, the Bruins are eager to rekindle the enthusiasm of their fan base, which has been revitalized by a series of strategic free agent acquisitions. When examining the Bruins roster, it becomes clear that there are several gaps that need to be addressed. Some of these gaps are urgent, particularly in the bottom six forward positions, while others may become pressing in the future, especially in the defensive pairings if injuries occur, as they did last season. Although the goalending situation has room for improvement, the team faces a different challenge. An abundance of players vying for limited spots, which could lead to tough decisions during training camp. As the Bruins prepare to face the Washington Capitals at Capital 1 Arena on October 8th, 2025, let’s take a closer look at three players who could potentially break out and make a significant impact this season. Three, Fraser Minton forward. Fraser Minton, who joined the Bruins from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Brandon Carlo at the 2025 trade deadline, initially presented a bit of a mystery. However, he quickly made a name for himself during his first season in Boston. In a total of 17 games split between the Bruins and their AHL affiliate, Providence, Minton accumulated eight points consisting of four goals and four assists. Minton is poised to compete for a spot among the bottom six forwards. And given the current lack of depth in that area, particularly for left-handed shooters, he stands a good chance of making the opening night roster. Although he has only played 25 games in the NHL, where he has recorded five points, three goals, and two assists, his discipline on the ice is commendable, having only accumulated four penalty minutes during that time. While Minton may not be a guaranteed inclusion in the lineup against the Capitals, he enters training camp with a strong desire to prove himself to general manager Don Sweeney and the Bruins management. Although the team may not have high expectations for him, Minton likely holds himself to a higher standard, eager to demonstrate why he was the player Sweeney chose to acquire from Toronto. Two, Mason Laorray, defenseman. Mason Laorray also had a noteworthy season in 202425 at least by his own standards. He participated in 77 games for the Bruins, scoring five goals and providing 28 assists. Additionally, he contributed to his national team success by winning a gold medal at the World Championship where he played five games and recorded three points, one goal, and two assists. With Hampus Lindholm sidelined for the entire regular season due to a fractured patella tendon sustained while blocking a shot, Loré was thrust into a top defensive pairing role. The young defenseman rose to the occasion, showcasing his skills and earning praise for his performance. His statistics were impressive, but it was his improved awareness and discipline that truly stood out during the 2024 25 season. According to Hockey DB, Lorray averaged only 0.21 penalty minutes per game over the last season, a significant improvement from his previous average of 0.44 penalty minutes per game. This reduction in penalties is particularly impressive given that he played in 36 more games than the previous season. Lori will enter training camp competing for the second spot on the top defensive pairing, but given his performance last season, it seems more likely that he will retain that position. He aims to increase his goal tally in the upcoming season while continuing to excel in puck distribution. One, Matthew Pitus, forward. Matthew Pitus found himself thrust into NHL action during the 2023 24 season. As he had not yet had the opportunity to play in the AHL, he approached the 202425 season as a developmental year, splitting his time between Boston and Providence. Over the course of 81 games, including eight playoff games with Providence, he netted 20 goals and provided 36 assists totaling 56 points. Pus has the potential to secure a spot on the NHL roster and could even take on a significant role, especially if top six forward Pavle Zaka is traded as speculated by heavy.com. If that happens, Pitus could very well step into Zaka’s position as a center on the second line. The challenge for Pus this season will be to maintain his place in the NHL. If he can effectively translate the skills he honed in Providence to the NHL level, he could quickly become a key player in the Bruins offensive lineup, particularly if he is paired with the right teammates. For instance, if he finds chemistry with Geeki, their ability to share the puck could enhance both players performances. However, if he ends up as the standout player on a line lacking scoring support, his success may depend heavily on his own efforts, which could pose challenges for the young forward. When does training camp start? As of now, training camp is set to commence in just over a month and a half, beginning on September 18th.
