Minnesota Wild TRADE Marco Rossi To The Boston Bruins? | NHL Trade Rumors
So, could the Minnesota Wilds be trading away Marco Rossi to the Boston Bruins this 2025 NHL offseason? Well, here on the screen are a couple snippets of an article from bleacherreport.com. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but it says, “With the Wild and Rossi at a stalemate, the Bruins and the Flame should consider pulling the trigger on a trade for the young center. Boston is one of the most center needy teams in the league. Elias Lynholm, who signed with the Bruins as a free agent in July 2024, had 47 points in 82 games last season. That’s not good enough for a player meant to maximize David Pastor’s talent. Nor is Casey Middlestad playing as a number two center level. The Bruins need an injection of talent up the middle, and they have the cap space in future draft picks to put a package together. However, Boston should be wary of allowing the Wild to include any of their young players in its pipeline in trade negotiations. for a team towing in the line between a retool and a rebuild, losing develop young developmental pieces is not a winning strategy. So, just kind of building off that last point, I do agree uh with the Boston Bruins if they are to trade for Marco Rossi to perhaps include some veterans or whatever and maybe steer away from including, you know, prospects in draft capital because the Bruins are in sort of an intriguing spot because they’ve spent some money on players like as alluded to Elias Lynholm for example, but they sold last year at the deadline. They got rid of Coyle. They got rid of Carlo. They got rid of Matthew or um Brad Marshian obviously, but they still want to compete for a playoff spot next year. So, I’m a little bit confused on the direction of this Bruins team. And yeah, perhaps a bounceback could be in store. So, I think Marco Rossi from a hockey perspective makes a ton of sense for this Bruins team. He’s a young player, a 60 plus point guy. If you were to go to the Bruins next year and play alongside David Pastnack, for example, he could very well be a point per game guy, not only for next year, but for the foreseeable future. if they’re able to lock him into a long-term deal. So, it seems like Marasi could be asking for a lot of money and and you know, deservingly so in my opinion, but the Wilder sort of against that. So, I don’t know where this is going to go, but if Boston truly does want to take advantage of the situation, I think that maybe if they can upgrade on their top six, uh I think Marco Rossi makes a ton of sense. He’s a young player as well. The only caveat is you got to pay him an extension, but the Bruins have some assets to give back Minnesota’s way. I’m just not too sure what approach the Wild would take. I think truthfully the Wild would probably want to get back some talent in return because they want to win a championship now. They want to get to the playoffs next year and they don’t want to sacrifice a good young asset like Marco Rossi giving them unknowns in the future. So, I’m not 100% sure what this looks what this looks like, but I I’m all for it. Like, I think Boston getting Marco Rossi makes a ton of sense and I love the deal.
