Another crap shoot from Grier, trading down just to get a bigger forward. A reclamation project, just like all the Defense pickups this offseason. The only positive is that it opens of a top six spot in the Cuda for the upcoming kids…
Do they have a good batting record? Aside from the draft none of these young guys have stepped up yet.
Minus Zetterland and Blackwood and what we have to show?
Got to trust your ….. Grier
gushchin had more upside, and he was far from a sure thing. olausson is a bust. nothing for nothing deal.
Very minor trade.
We have Gushin, who could not crack the worst line up in the NHL.
Traded for Olausson, who has done less at the AHL level then Gushin.
Both teams are essentially giving a former prospect a shot at being on another roster, as in doing the player solid, rather than waiting until waivers when most of the jobs are filled. They now have a slim chance at an NHL shot… instead of no chance.
99% likely that neither player plays another 20 games in the NHL.
Olausson is a little better for the Sharks in that if his work ethic were to increase drastically, he could play in the bottom six.
Gushin didn't excel at anything, but he was good at a lot of things, but his size didn't let him make the Sharks.
