F…..me. Bouchard needs to go, this guy is a train wreck. Other teams love him for his “assists” on their goals
I figured 10 or 11 but now he is now getting 11-12M..Oilers will become the new Leafs when it comes to spending..as expected..cause they will give in and sign this guy and he is not worth it at all

I agree that he will get more than Dobson, but I don’t think he should. Between buying more RFA versus UFA years and Dobson being better on the defensive side of the puck, despite bouchards better offense, they should probably be on a similar deal.
Hes not a better player.. hes inflated by McDrai PP points. U can legit see Dobson is better at 5v5 and hes younger. Bouchard is basically mike matheson… hes a 5m defenseman.. he just happens to play 30min everygame cause Oilers cant build a team right

A thing to consider, and a thing people need to consider in the future. This is not a flat cap anymore, the cap is going up and players are incentivized to take a shorter deal to make even more on their next deal, ESPECIALLY someone like Dobson as he is only 25.
That 9.5 mil number is likely 1.5 to 2 million more expensive than it would have been on a 3-4 year contract, as Montreal bought a bunch of UFA years.
To put it into perspective, lets say the cap 4 seasons from now is 125 million, that Dobson number of 9.5 mil in that cap hit is equivalent to around 6.7 million in the current cap of 88 million

Last 2 playoffs he has 55 points. Points without 97&29 on the ice? TWO! Both this year, one of those was accidentally blocking a shot and having the puck fall to Brown who did the rest and BouchBlunder was almost off the ice when Brown scored. He rides 97&29’s coat tales.

he is not even close to as good as Dobson. His points production is so inflated due to playing with 2 of the top 5 players in the world… some people forget to stop looking at stats and actually watch the game…. Bouchard is a defensive liability and it was put on show in the finals
