you’re you’re playing a lot right now and you know mathematically we know where this team is um for you How much do you want to keep playing at this stage just kind of given where things are at what do you mean well just you know there are some who believe that maybe um given the fact that there’s not a lot at stake maybe that you need to play less at this time of year You’ve been asked Oh personally um I mean I don’t know It doesn’t it doesn’t feel like I it’s hard for me to gauge how much I’m playing like um sometimes I don’t know if I played you know 22 or 27 It’s just um how I feel sometimes So I was actually surprised how much I played today just looking at it um a couple seconds ago So I I feel fine And um we also had you know Forbes go down there in the third So what was your takeaway from that play you know and the fight and how it went down in the late shot yeah obviously uh hate that you know that happens you know that he’s trying to stick up for me too That obviously doesn’t feel too good But um I mean Forb’s a great teammate and um you know definitely a competitive guy You just said it You know we’re out of the playoffs and he doesn’t you there’s a lot of guys that wouldn’t do anything and he he doesn’t look the other way But uh I didn’t see the shot Um they said it was a five so apparently it was pretty dirty and I don’t know what he was doing you know the circus sack after getting kicked out but um I think obviously there’s got to be a level of respect so I haven’t seen the the shot again but um yeah what’s been so difficult about overtime this season it’s a good question I don’t know when you talked a little bit earlier this week about wearing the sea and and this team I’m wondering what sort of influence the Cydians have had on you this season in terms of of playing that role What have you been able to learn from them i mean they’re obviously very passionate and um you know love coming to the games and um cheering for us and rooting for the Canucks and um it’s you know an honor to play in front of them So obviously want to you know bring your best effort and felt that way since um you know my first game here and you know we’re just Yeah Yeah Connor you guys are coming off two wins on the road You got three games left What do you need the focus to be tonight against this one well you know team in a uh you know desperate position and uh expect a pretty big push right at the start So just got to be ready to play A lot to play for this time of year I know we’re out but guys are uh you know fighting for a lot of stuff So we just got to have a good uh professional game tonight You got Tai Mueller making his NHL debut He just did his rookie lap He’s got a lot of friends and family here tonight as well How special is a moment like this for him yeah obviously everybody remembers their first Uh it’s pretty cool Always fun to be a part of it Really nice kid Uh very skilled talented player So we’re excited to add him to our lineup tonight and uh hopefully make it a good one for him Thanks Connor Good luck tonight Thank you We looking at a guy that’s living his dream here Uh yeah it’s pretty cool It’s pretty exciting What uh tell us about getting the call or who who told you that uh you were getting the opportunity to come up uh I got the I got off the ice from morning skate in Abbottzford Made a game last night was about to play and then R.J called me and let me know as I was getting home So it was a pretty cool call and pretty exciting How’ it feel out on the ice this morning just with the guys and getting to chat with all of them uh it was good It was uh awesome just to be out there and just kind of soak it all in today So who are some of the people you think about on a day like today in your journey to this point uh just everyone who’s helped me my parents family members um coaches anyone who’s been a part of this journey along the way How much easier I guess is it to walk into a room half the guys are up here A bunch of familiar faces in this room Oh yeah I know a lot of the guys so it definitely made it pretty easy just seeing them all again So that was that was nice What about the season been for you i mean when you think of where you were at training camp to now with the quick stop at the AHL All-Star game and the mix and every like how much fun has the season been and how sort of how good you feel about what you’ve accomplished so far this year uh it’s been a lot of fun Um I’m pretty happy with how it’s gone so far Uh I’m personally I always want to get better and do better so there’s still a long ways to go but so far I’m pretty happy What are the things you need to focus on to have success with this group um just playing my game and playing to my strengths I think not trying to do too much or don’t be too timid out there So is your family going to make it in time for the game uh yeah I got a bunch of family coming down I think close to 10 15 people So when you look at the board and you see centering a line with Nebrask and Besser I mean you can’t ask for a whole lot better opportunity Yeah that’s pretty cool Do you think get them the puck yeah I think I think that’s the plan So have they given you any advice on on how to play with them or how to center them going into tonight no not not necessarily specifically but like just little tips and pointers on certain little plays and stuff So it’s been good from you know Abbottzford We’ve talked a lot about the record and you team in Abbottzford is about to set the franchise record for points What’s been the reason for success down there this season i think just uh everyone everyone’s buying and just the way we were able to come together as a team these last little while and work for the same goal and
