Everyone is so fast to claim the Oilers got worse when they do anything, but what if the changes this off-season were the plan all along? #EdmontonOilers #Oilers #NHL #NHLFreeAgency #NHLNews
Hey, I love you stuff and think this team didn’t really lose anything with what the added but I’m just curious, when you said savoie could come in at about 2 inches taller is that through something is his skates or just natural growth because I thought you stop growing at 18. Keep up the good work!
The regulate season is not the issue of course. Points per season is not the metric… is this lineup worse against the Panthers in the playoffs? The answer is yes. Oilers are turning into the Buffalo Bills of the 80s.
I don't think the oilers have gotten worse. Skinner never played, arviddson wasnt helpful, kane missed the entire season. Essentially we replaced perry and brown with mangiapane and lazar
The only thing I’m concerned about is the lack of right handed wingers. Mangiapane shoots left and so does Savoie. Philp shoots right but plays C. So basically Leon Draisaitl’s linemates are probsbly both going to be left handed. Idk if that’s an issue or not.
Oiler fans were laughing at the trade last year and McLeod was a huge bright spot..ya they gave up Savoie but Savoie yes is skilled but is also a tiny guy who is not going to get any taller and so far is made of glass
i think bouchard is much to expensive – and what u think about dev. camp ? and i dont want c defence make point i want c defence like the (every) panthers did blockiing shots – go down and flying over the ice to block shots 🙂 that was the different
It’s worth noting that our current cap space includes people like Caggiula and Josh Brown who will be sent to Bakersfield. I think Silovs would be a good target, as Vancouver has already extended Demko and Lankinen AND they need a bottom six C desperately – though they’re a division rival, and since Henrique has agreed to waive his NMC, I think a Silovs Henrique trade would be a win win for both teams. Maybe also throw Stu in the mix to clear more space, and they can send him to Abbotsford to develop into the elite goalie we know is within his potential
Savoie = min. 30 pts Fredric = min. 30 pts Mangiapane = min. 40 pts Philp = min. 20 pts Lazar = min. 20 pts They should easily replace what went out the door, keeping in mind they didnt have Kane all season, and they should have some decent cap space come trade deadline, to add a legit top 6-9 forward +
Oilers D need to learn how to take the body/man and eliminate the opponents from play and prevent all those high danger chances (they could study Florida who excel at it)
Those social media complaining "Oiler fans" are obviously not really fans if they're complaining after 5 days. Months left to go, a lot of their previous big moves where made much later than that. Those "lost players" are all replaceable.
They also almost signed brock boeser, they came within a few hundred ks to sign the guy. He decided to stay in Vancouver on a team that is not going anywhere close to the finales. That's his choice.
They've signed big tough guys, people that can play any position, people that really want to be Oilers. They have plenty of youth moving up the chain. That's how you build a winning team. Not by throwing millions a people that come for money, not because they want to play there.
This line-up will get there points, but are they worst than last years Stanley Cup run team ?? Yes they are , specially in lack of experience and size !
The Oilers team just not good enough need to trade one defensive players to round out the roster with better players, top two players make all the money, the rest roster made up of bottom player not even 6 million dollars players doesn’t work this the leafs all over again.

The more the defence score, the more room the forwards have.
Is your math? Mathing 30+30 +27 = 87
I can do a lot of things, Math in the morning? WHELLL
And I think Fredric will have himself a solid season
Don’t forget Fredric we will see how many points he will get.
Nobody grows in height past 28 y/o lol. It's very rare. 😂 Savvy isn't 14/15 years old here

The oilers are weaker and have virtually no money left

As one poster said, the Oilers are quickly becoming the Buffalo Bills of the NHL!
Nothing that they've done over the off season impresses me.

younger, faster team and new faces in the dressing will make a difference
Lol… 5'9" to 5"11. What's he doing using taller skates? Lol

the defense will have chance to evolve instead being thrown together for only 20 games . The forwards needed to be injected with youth, and speed.
Just bring out the alll star dang heatley
Adults only grow wider not taller.

If chris knoblach can get the lines set for training camp and let them play to build the chemistry maybe the PP and PK will be better and the offence

87 points need to be replaced not 77
Comparatively, how did the Florida Panthers do after July 1?
Hey man, i like the longer videos! Keep up the great work!!

87 points is over a point a game.
I’m more worried about the playoffs not the regular season player stats.
How are we replacing Perry, Brown, Kane, in the playoffs? That’s a lot of experience and physicality to replace. We needed to get faster.
I can’t wait for trade deadline.
Doesn’t matter how many good players they bring in. Keeping Skinner means they will never win a cup!
And yet again the Oilers find ways to get smaller and lighter……
Salaray caps make it difficult, and if a player won't take the money you offer you have to let them walk. I'm surprised at Perry though.
Trade Mcdavid, and make it up in the aggregate …. make a no idols team
Technically the Oilers are worse, but they are better if you consider cap flexibility.
