Brutal picks. Watching that round 1 was awful.
I understand the importance of building depth for the future, but we have immediate needs. Geno is gone after this upcoming season. Sid and Tanger won't have many more years beyond that. To be Cup contenders now, we needed to draft players who most likely can have an impact, at the NHL level, now.
If you have the 11th overall pick, you should be looking if any of the prospects expected to go from 1-10 are still available, not trying to pull up from what was likely 25th or even into the 2nd round. MAYBE this will work out in 3-5 years…
And the goaltending issue persists. Yeah, there are a couple of prospects already in the Pens system who may be ready to go in a couple of years, but in a couple of years, we'll be wishing the stars of the day had been brought here, now. Instead, tomorrow's stars will be playing somewhere else and Jarry still won't be worth a used puck bag.
Format was terrible! Who picks a first round pick over zoom? The players are there but the teams aren't?? Bettman is not good at this.
Why not draft Eklund and aitcheson back to back? The 21st and 24th picks were reaches. Totally unnecessary risks in the first round.
Eklund and aichinson would of been so much better. Only time will tell.. we got 3 players in the first round I think dubas has done well. Need to.jump back I to the 2nd round as they traded their pick to la to move up to 24th
Eklund or Kashawn would've been much better tbh !! We need stud dman as we need to get rid of EK65 and Graves asap and Tanger isn't getting any younger and he is starting to have health problems tbh..so i think he might be gone soon too !! So a guy like Kashawn or Smith would've been great and we only have one great dman prospect in Owen !! Also Eklund is a gem !! Whereas Bill will probably be a like another Wayne Simmons and William will be a big tough third liner tbh !! Kinda like if Brady T played at center !! So I'm more intrigued and excited to see what Ben can do..ngl !! So I'll give KD a solid B on night one of the draft tbh !! But anyways..welcome to the burgh Bill,Will and Ben !! GM Kyle Dumbas might have learned a lesson from destroying Toronto's roster and culture. Notice the Penguins marketing team pushing the term "playoff ready" hockey player. Guess building a beta-boy Leafs team that failed historically in the playoffs taught him something.

You guys keep saying "very interesting" and i just hear, "horrible" The 1st round is supposed to be skilled players and the Penguins reached for grinders. Going forward, i dont trust this GM if the Pens end up with a top 5 pick next year
