  1. all the acquisitions by now have to be though physical guys now because we won't be cut for the playoffs.

  2. Best thing Is with Reinbacher and Guhle they have two young very solid defensive defensemen as well. Guhle-Dobson and Reinbacher-Hutson make for two very balanced pairs, and very balanced top 4 overall

  3. I am guessing Dobson didn't want to sign a extension in NY, and thus they decided to do the trade for the draft capital and a given warm body with some potential. Time will tell how this works out for both teams but it instantly makes it harder for a team to focus solely on Lane to pin the habs in their own zone. I dont know that I would call the rebuild over but this looks fine to me.

  4. It`s good for both teams.
You can only sign 50 prospects and there is currently a glut in the canadiens system. About 3-4 of those AHLer players WILL make it to the nhl and there is a few extra players in the lower rank as well.

Prospects for the Islanders will help a rebuild and renew a franchise that is currently filled with older players.

Emil Heineman will be a good , just no place for him on the current canadiens roster. There is a bunch of players with the same toolset. Heineman is also from sweden and will fit well in the locker room.

  5. You’re pretty funny for a Leafs fan. GO HABS! Love this. HuGo have a great plan which is coming to fruition

  6. Darche is a Habs fan at heart. He is playing 4D chess with the Habs. Next he will get us Barzal for a 4th round pick in 2028.

  7. After the Leafs just raped Tavares with the ultra low ball contract maybe Montreal can ship Lazy Laine to Toronto for that much needed second line center. Really improve this team and get things going as the Laine experiment has already failed and he will not be worth anywhere close to what he will probably demand on the next deal. A near decade of mediocrity should convince people Laine isn't the guy they all still seem to think he is.

  8. Steve you nailed it with your first pronunciation of Happauage. Not many actually get it.

As for the trade, it felt like Dobson was not interested in an extension with New York given the salary demand rumors. Giving him 10+ also seemed iffy and 9.5 is still up there, but I would've signed it if I was Darche. I don't think Dobson was signing that on the island however. Dobson is good, but he can make some eye-popping mistakes that drive you mad sometimes. Also, hilariously, Heineman had more PPGs this year than Dobson the last 2 years somehow. He's not the PP QB that I think some think he is, but he also played for the Islanders who had the worst PP the last 2 years and don't have a lot of natural scorers. So do with that what you may.

The return is underwhelming but I think it can be spicy if they trade up for Hagens. Either way, you're looking at a young core of Schafer, Cal Ritchie, Cole Eiserman, and either Hagens or 2 more mid 1st round picks. The Isles farm system finally looks promising.

  9. Hutson Reinbacher Guhle Dobson is going to be an absurd top 4 for like 8 years. Dobson’s the oldest member of that top 4.

  10. Next season some time, when the Habs are playing the Leaves, and are ahead by one goal with around 2 minutes to play in the third period and the Leaves net is empty, I hope the Habs know to keep Dobson on the bench. Because if they do not, the game will be headed to overtime.

  11. The thing with this trade is that with Hutson-Guhle-Dobson-Matheson-Carrier back there, the ciuld seriously think of moving Reinbacher for a forward.

  12. Why is it everybody with a mic sucks off the habs in every move they make? 9.5 for an inconsistent SOFT D man? Two firsts??? Go do HFR Steve.

  13. You said it right…. "haw pog" or "hop pog". That's the way I said it and I grew up in the town next door. Long islanders are weird.

  14. ..Habs fan..Hutsons lack of size cannot be overcome so the Habs are required to use a roster spot to protect the undersized….your Leafs may be playoff challenged…
