Could we see Dylan Holloway become a member of the Edmonton Oilers once again this summer? While an agent switch is a likely sign Holloway is looking to cash in on a good year, it’s hard to ignore the obvious.

He is Not coming back to the OILERS he had a great year on BLUES…… Nothing is impossible but the Blues made a great move to improve their team. We need the OILERS to win the CUP so they can have the LAST LAUGH……. Its not cool seeing the Oilers lose 2 first round picks……

You say "no" if you're an Oilers fan to Holloway because he played sporadically for us for 2 seasons and got injured. He played a whole season for the Blues and injured for the playoffs. I think they make it past Winnipeg if he played. He's becoming a great player but he's a walking bruise unfortunately.

Holloway can't really 'force a trade' to Edmonton. He could demand a trade if he's not happy, but bottom line is I think he got bad advice from his agent but looking at it from his perspective, if he's got to go under the knife again…. careers can be cut really short due to injuries. Has happened a lot. IMO you strike while the iron is hot. I don't blame him or his agent for taking the most money he could as the Oilers were not offering him a life changing offer (he got what, double from St.Lous – who here reading this wouldn't switch jobs in a second if someone offered you DOUBLE to do the same job you're doing now?).

I think you run it back with Kane. He’s shown his value here during the playoffs. I’d look to trade Arvi out and I don’t resign J. Skinner. Holloway won’t be back here.

You could trade Henrigue or Arvidson for him. That way you gain cap space next season.
Bouchard might be a cap issue being an RFA and subject to offer sheets. Best sign him sooner rather than later before he gets tendered a huge offer. Mind you a $9,360,153 contract would net a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick for recompense if that does come to pass.

It's business at the end of the day. If Halloway really wanted to stay in Edmonton, he didn't have to sign the offer sheet. If he didin't want a pay cut then, he will likely not want one at his next resigning. The Oilers won't pay him what St. Louis will pay him so I'm guessing he will re-sign with the Blues.
If Oilers would have given him $400k more, he would have stayed. 1.5 Million would have got it done.

Holloway was great, I still think about his goal against Vancouver last year and I can't wrap my head around letting him walk BUT Holloway was actively being targeted by McDavid during their first game here. Even if he is free, he's not coming back. That bridge has burned.

But he's injury prone and left on bad terms. If there's room to get in the off-season, you can look at what's available.
Sign the big contracts and go from there. Some of these contracts that would be good in a trade also rely on the players themselves to sign off. And they might not.

He was very badly handled by Oilers brass, he claimed no one contacted him, and that he wanted to stay. We like giving away our young talent for nothing.
Wouldn't be thrilled to see him come back to Edmonton. I still don't get the fuss about Holloway leaving. Guys get traded or change teams often and it's not the first time a guy left the team. We've moved on from it. It's a distraction and I'm tired of rehashing the Holloway issue. We have solid players now in guys like Podkolzin and Frederic. Guys who are humble, play with an edge, and put the team first. I'd rather have guys on the team who want to be here and are happy to play with us.
