MITCH MARNER SIGNING UPDATE: TOP OFFERS REVEALED + INTERESTED TEAMS

[Music] the biggest offers on the market plus a whole bunch of other teams that have been linked and referenced to in the conversation about Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Mitch Mner nah I should have said former Toronto Maple Leaf star Mitch Mner because there is no if ends or buts about it this guy’s going to leave like for real there’s no chance he resigns in Toronto is there anyways with all that in mind let’s dive into a few tweets that give us a little bit of an inclination as to where everything with Mitch Mner seems to be heading towards because we have ourselves a very intriguing update from some of the folks that we listen to the most on social media in regards to Marner and whom it is that might be out there offering him as much money as possible let’s go out there and read this so this is a tweet posted by NHL Watcher it summarizes what was talked about on Jeff Merrick’s show The Sheet david Pñota got the conversation started saying this he does not believe that the eighth year is important to Mitch Mner he believes Marner is going to July 1st no matter what and does not see a sign and trade scenario happening that was also a talking point that I think was decently discussed amongst NHL fans this summer hey is Marner eligible or is he willing to do a sign and trade the Maple Leafs sign him to a deal and then he immediately gets flipped thus allowing the new team that Marner is on to get the eighth year and allow him to stick around for a little bit longer than if they had just signed him to 7 years in free agency he also could get a little bit more dough if that is the case but it seems like here Marner is a lot more interested in getting the shortterm dollars whilst maybe getting as much money as humanly possible if Marner plays until 7 years into the future and the cap is even higher let’s say 110 million for example let’s say 7 years into the future Mitch Marner is still pretty good he could potentially get a higher AAV at that time which makes a lot of sense when you consider the fact that he has always been trying to get the highest AAV possible speaking about that let’s dive into some of these teams that potentially could give him a high AAV penota also said in the fourth period that he thinks that Calgary will express interest i think the Montreal Canadians will express interest whether those are environments he wants to go in and be a part of I don’t get that sense so uh yeah there you go calgary Montreal interest confirmed here by David Penota or at least he’s going out there and saying he thinks these teams will be interested in Marner maybe it’s not all too surprising though because I have seen sort of a interesting dynamic with these Marner reports out of everybody who has a show or who is an NHL analyst on TV or on the radio everybody is naming every team in existence that could be available with the cap space saying “Yeah they might go for Marner that team might go for Marner calgary might go for Marner montreal might go for Marner even the top reply here is he just not naming every single team nhl watchers like “Yeah pretty much.” And I’m not showing you all the tweets here but there was a lot of conversation about a whole bunch of teams jeff Merrick on the show here also he asked Pota if Andlau and the Sens make a run of Marner mentioning that Andlau is a real competitive guy and what better way to stick it to the Leafs by signing away Mitch penot said he wouldn’t be surprised if the sends took a stab so yeah let’s get some Canadian franchises in there montreal imagine Marner with Demidov that’d be fine i mean it’d be really really good a lot better than fine you could say mner in Calgary imagine him mentoring a guy like Matthew Coronado i think there’s a lot of potential there i think having Marner alongside a Nasm Cadri one more time would also be pretty interesting and then in Ottawa Marner heading over to the SS would be the ultimate FU to Toronto and the Maple Leafs ultimately a thing that we’re not going to expect but if it does happen that would be crazy let’s dive into some of the teams though that have been reported to potentially giving Marner the most money possible because you had Chris Johnston on the Chris Johnston show yesterday saying that he thinks it’s going to be Carolina and Chicago they’re expected to make some of the biggest offers to Mitch Mner moneywise and with all that in mind I’m sitting here thinking about that Connor Badard show in Chicago showtime baby sorry not Patrick Kane connor Baddard if you have Marner setting up Bedard left right and center forget Bedard leading his team in points every single year he’s going to have to duel it out with Mitch because these guys are going to be assisting on every goal scored by the other guy chicago has so many reasons to go out there and try to give Mitch Marner a contract and if Marner’s ultimate goal is to earn dough which ever since he had been starting this salary cap shenanigan loophole mumbo jumbo max contract whatever output potential thing all those years ago it seems like that’s at least a good chunk of his goal the Blackhawks have $29 million in cap space and Mitch Marner is probably not going to take up that much in totality he’ll probably take like half if he were to sign with a team like Chicago it would be the ultimate chasing the bag type of move not chasing the playoffs not chasing an immediate Stanley Cup oh no if he wanted to do that he’d go over to Carolina but he would be chasing as many dollars as possible now for Carolina it’s interesting because they actually do have a similar amount of cap space they’ve got 28.4 million so Chicago has slightly more but Carolina still has a ton which is going to make a lot of sense when you see them give Mitch Mner a 134.5 million AAV contract offer and then if he decides to accept it says “Hey like this is a team that makes the third round every year sure they can’t win any games in the third round but at least they make it past the first round.” That’s kind of the minimum there for Mitch Marner as an athlete who could also get a huge payday from this Hurricanes team the Canes avoided signing Miko Ranton into a big dollar contract because he didn’t want to commit with them so now they have all this extra money at their disposal and Mitch Marner is right there ready and available to potentially sign on and be a part of this team yeah it’s kind of funny how many C teams we are talking about in this video calgary the Canadians the Chicago team and Carolina all these C teams coming in here potentially offering Martner some big dough unfortunately for Calgary and Montreal it doesn’t seem like they’d be able to offer as much money as some of these other teams here it’s okay doesn’t really matter i mean the Canadians they can go into LTIR if they wanted to with Carrie Price but ultimately interest seems to be there for some of these Canadian franchises i’d love to see Marner play with Demid and Nasm Cadri those would both be crazy good situations but Chicago and Carolina these seem to be the teams that have the most money to burn and to spend in some sort of a Mitch Marner acquisition so with that in mind I want you to let me know your thoughts in the comments section below if you’re a Blackhawks fan or a Carolina Hurricanes fan how do you feel when you hear that your team is going to be one of the many teams that’s going to be in on Marner but potentially one of the teams with the absolute highest contract offer to the current Toronto Maple Leafs free agent to be what is the max dollar amount that you’d be willing to pay for a Mitch Marner to come over onto your team and be a part of your franchise going forward and do you think he has ample reason to accept a contract to a team that’s not necessarily too competitive at the moment i’m thinking of uh yeah Chicago chicago that’s like the easy one isn’t it i want you to let me know your thoughts in the comments section below i hope you enjoyed this roll and bye [Music] [Music]

  1. If he was smart he’d stay away from the toxicity of a Canadian market and save some tax dollars and sign in the U.S.

  2. It’s pretty obvious he’s going to a contending team so Vegas, Carolina, Tampa, Dallas make the most sense

  3. I hope my blues get some one good on signing before the preseason plz I feel that we got no one good besides kyru and a few others and we got a late draft pick in round one anyway I hope we get him we will be good for the start with the big 3

  4. I was annoyed when Montreal picked up Liane, but they got paid a good bit to take him. Ill be real upset if they pick up marner. Please dont come to Montreal

  5. If I’m Canadian, I wouldn’t want to live in Carolina fur 7 or 8 years. Better off in Chicago with Bedard.

  6. Let him go. When you can’t stand up for yourself and the team won’t protect you. Get rid of him. And anyone else that doesn’t stand up for themselves. Bye Matthews ,bye John. , Bye nylander ,

  7. I think it would be nice for the Habs to get Marner and play him with Demidov , but for that to happen they would need to flip Laine for almost nothing and make sure that they don’t have to eat some of his cap hit … which it would be tough cause Laine is just so slow and can’t play 5v5 he’s only good on the pp. so I would have to say the Habs won’t get him
