This Canucks prospect is turning into an absolute FORCE….

The Abbotsford Canucks (Vancouver’s AHL team) have made it to the Conference Finals of the Calder Cup, Victor Mancini, Linus Karlsson, Sammy Blais and Arturs Silovs have all shown well so far in their playoff run/ they take on the Texas Stars next.

  1. It was great to hear a player -other than with the last name, Lekkerimaki- from the Abbie Canucks being both recognized for their stellar play and hyped by a social media content creator for a change!

  2. I've been on the Karlsson team since the start. As a Right hander he has the size and hands to play in the bigs. He's proven to be found money for Vancouver. I say he eats up some of those vacated Boeser minutes on the right side in Vancouver next year. He's a year ahead of Lekkerimaki, who is more of a shooter and perimeter player. Karlsson goes to the tough areas and picks up goals. We need that.

Blais is another found money asset. He plays on the edge and IF he can rein it in a bit, that's another hammer on the team. Joshua, Sherwood, and add Blais. We're one hammer away from the requirements.

Mancini is sure a promising player. He is ahead of Willander on the depth charts, and plays a bigger game. Getting him for this cup run may prove to be a difference making add.

Now if Arty can show he's turned a corner, now is the time. He's proven to be the big game guy in the past. But like all young goalies the long haul of the NHL is difficult. He hasn't even dominated in regular season play in the A. We could really use a good backup. We're over budget in net, and our number 1 has questionable durability. If Arty could start the party with some great regular season play in the big club that could put us in better shape in the crease, budget wise.

Huge Abbotsford news with the Canucks in uncharted territory against a team we've never faced. Hopefully they can rise to the challenge!

Thanks Deaner, and GO CANUCKS GO!

  3. Its actually crazy to think about the massive defensive depth the canucks have with our worst dman being either dpetty or mancini who both could be 2nd dpair on any other team

  4. If Mancini can turn into something like Zadorav then this back line would be set for 5-8 years( Assuming Quinn stays)

  5. Was at game 1 of the WCF vs the Stars. Pretty underwhelmed by Lekkerimaki but Mancini had some great offensive rushes, Karlsson looked dangerous offensively, Blais was running guys over including knocking down 3 different guys all in the same shift and Silovs held down the fort like a beauty. Aside from some bad turnovers and not the best defensive game, the boys looked solid and I could see them going to/ winning the Calder.

  6. Abbotsford Canucks have way more grit and guts than Vancouver Canucks.

Please prove us wrong next year Vancouver Canucks!!!

  7. Arty has been pulled once in these playoffs. I will agree he has a bit of a hot and cold to him. Hoping we see a bit of a change for these last two series.

  8. welcome to youth hockey! All aboot consistency.

yes quit spending outrageous amounts of moneys on contracts for one player and bring the team up (Together) so they can learn to become a team.

  9. Big difference between the AHL and NHL but I'm glad hes progressing because I was one of many who was choked about the Miller trade…Still am!
Miller was a Beast and an 103 point Gritty player Who held McDavid and Draisitl to 3 goals in 7 games last year

  10. Yeah Deaner it is time to cover these boys they're awesome to watch! With Vancouver having an off season I've really payed allot of attention to Abby this season and playoffs and let me tell ya these guy's this season was like watching Vancouver 2 seasons ago when we won the pacific…Silovs is killing it this playoffs with a massive 9.38 save percentage and 3 shutouts he's been a beast!!!

  11. Canucks need the cheap guys to step up next year and take roster spots, Karlsson, Raty and even maybe Blais; instead of overpaying for guys like O'Connor and Joshua.

  12. On one hand Silovs was playing on the Canucks last season when they had their worst defense in a while. But a good goalie still would have stolen a game or two. But looks like he has rebounded and found his game again. And yes it is the AHL but his numbers have been great. Going this far into the playoffs for Abby is good for all the players on the roster. I thought Mancini was the prize in the trade so I have been high on him since then. And was disappointed the Canucks did not bring Blais up before the end of the season. We had no hard players in our lineup. He might have made a difference. I had watched a couple other games with Laval and thought We might have a problem, but now I think we have a good shot at winning the Calder. Manny has transformed this team. But to think we had 16 AHL players play on the big club might have helped also. Loaded with borderline NHLers. It is a deep team.
