without the xcheck he doesn't fall, call is correct, followed the rules to the letter.
These refs suck ass! If anything it's a 2 min minor penalty and get on w the game.
I knew something bad happened once I seen his blood on the ice
BS!
I agree with the call.
#26 in Vegas was there totaly in the wrong time at that place…
Worst call ever in a playoff game!! What a joke.
Maybe if he just DIDNT cross check the guy they might not of lost
Even though Pavelski’s injury came from hitting the ice, I think this was a good call. It’s like when player A boards player B, causing an injury, the injury didn’t come from the actual push itself, but from player B’s contacting the boards. Once a player commits a foul (in Eakin’s case, a clear cross-check), then he is responsible for what follows as a result.
I am not a Sharks fan or an anti-Vegas fan, by the way.
Professional bookies will take on any league in the world except NHL because of the officiating…. wonder why? 🤔🤔
He so faked that pool of blood
Wow. I fell asleep during the 2nd and read about what happened when i woke up. Then came to YouTube looking for video, fully expecting that refs f'ed it up like they always do. But this video shows an intentional hard cross-check that resulted in bleeding head injury to the opposing player, who got knocked out of the game. That's a 5min penalty every time, everywhere, no question, no argument, period end of story. Refs got it right for a change. Darn, I was rooting for Vegas (Sabres fan here hoping for high SJ 1st round pick)
terrible call. so basically dont touch anyone they might trip on themselves!!!
This was not a hard cross check and is a play that happens in almost every game without being called. It is unfortunate that Pavelski was injured on the play, but it is a contact sport and injuries will happen. This is worse than the NFL's blunder this year, it was not a close game, the failure to make the correct call was even worse in this situation since they didn't appear to be calling anything until after realizing he was injured, and the Sharks did not have a good chance of tying the game without direct assistance from the officials. My personal opinion is the entire officiating crew should be publicly called out by the NHL and fired to make it clear that complete incompetence won't be tolerated. Additionally, I think any person that thinks that a 5 minute major and game misconduct is appropriate for this call is a complete and total idiot.
Considering kadri got 5 and a series… ya that's about right
I felt so bad for joe
Imo the original crosscheck shouldn’t have been called but the guy who threw Pavelski into the ice like he was in WWE 100% needed to be called.
They can blame refs for the loss all they want. They blew a 3 goal lead in 5 minutes
Eakin knocks Pavelski off balance but its Stastny's push while he is off balance that drives Joe's face into the ice. Neither were particularly dirty, more just unfortunate timing. If Stastny doesn't give him the extra push he falls down but not on his head.
Not even a 2 min minor
Minnesota Mild fan here with no skin in the game…it’s a shit call. The cross check didn’t lead to the blood, his face shield did. Stasny was in route to the defense that got the puck and was the only reason this happened and if you think it’s intentional you should watch how he lets up and stops his progress which most players wouldn’t do. Just because a pretty typical yet slightly cheap crosscheck occurred it’s not why he was injured or bloody. The proof is that no call was going to be made until he actually was unfortunately injured. What happened because of the shit call is a different story
Dont know how anyone argues the call they clearly had intention thats why 2 guys both ignored the puck went straight at him and watch the subtle trip the second player throws he steps behind him with his left leg just like a Judo throw
Penalty was wrong. Eakins X-Check was a penalty in the regular season, but I truly think there was intent to injure on the part of Paul Stastny (Not William Carrier) as he threw Pavelski to the ice
Horrible call. I mean who gives a 5 minute major on a push. Vegas was gonna win and sharks needed help with a horrible call that was no were as bad as they made it out to be. He was pushed and feel to the ground. That’s hockey. Horrible call. Vegas should be the ones going on.
Vegas got robbed.
Garbage call ,..nhl,.. is a joke,..
Fuck vegas from a NJD fan!
