  1. If we (CANES) win game two, AT HOME convincingly then we have a chance. If we donโ€™t win with an exclamation point we lose the series. Iโ€™m a huge Canes fan but last nights game was telling. Whatโ€™s telling is the NHL has two rules books. One for regular season and one for the playoffs. BS.

  2. Is Barkov a lock for the HOF?

    1 time Stanley Cup Champion
2 Stanley Cup Appearances (possibly more before heโ€™s done)

    2 time Selke Trophy Winner
    4 time Selke Trophy Finalist

    2 time Lady Byng Winner
    3 time Lady Byng Finalist

    Panthers all-time leader for:
    Goals
    Assists
    PP Goals
    PP Assists
    SH Assists
    GW Goals
    OT Goals
    Games Played

First Finnish Captain to win Stanley Cup

    I think heโ€™s a lock, without question.
    Am I wrong?

  3. Panthers did a good job of taking advantage of the inexperience of Scott Morrow. They also did a good job of using Ekblad to throw elbows per usual.

  4. As a Canes fan I am worried as hell. If we don't get game 2…. it will be confirmed Rod did something with an eldritch horror beyond the comprehension of man to win a cup and now the canes can't any wins in the ECF.

    LETS GO CANES.

  5. I noticed that Staal bobbled the puck several times resulting in giveaways that were bad, one of which resulted in a goal against. I don't think his confidence and composure were really there.

  6. Bro is supporting a scumbag play. NO ONE shoots the puck at someones face. Thats not violent hockey. Thats chickenshit hockey. Then buddy refused to drop the gloves. PURE PUSSY SHIT. And you like it? Says a lot about you.

  7. As a Hurricanes fan weโ€™re done. We got lucky against Washington and this will never have what it takes to win. We will never win another cup with our current core

  8. I hope it's Canes in 7. This entire game felt like adjusting to Florida's play. Either way, this was not an acceptable showing of Carolina. We have to tighten up, and Freddie HAS to get better on the rebounds.

  9. If I was Rod I wouldn't change a single thing about our offense, they created a ton of chances and the momentum killers from defensive mis-steps are the only thing that kept them from having twice as many of those chances to make sure the couple they needed went in. Unfortunately, the loss tonight just comes down to Florida finding our weak spot in the rookie D Morrow that was covering for an injured top tier defender in Chatfield. He was directly responsible for 4 out of 5 of Floridas goals, either by screening Freddie, being bodied and pushed around by bigger players and not playing on the right side of the panther he was matched up with, losing posession by not making the smart play when pressured, being out of position and losing his man altogether, or causing an absolutely unecessary and momentum killing penalty with a delay of game across the ice that he was under no pressure to commit.

Morrow was tested and failed hard unfortunately, and it was definitely the wrong game and especially the wrong team to throw him into while essentially cold when Florida has the depth they do. Expect a much closer and different looking game if Chatfield is back on Thursday.

  10. As a Cats fan, I loved what Marchy did. I don't blame Ghost either. This is playoff hockey. It's also the reason I never see the Leafs making it deep into the playoffs. None of them are willing to do what has to be done to win. I'm also sick of the fan whining about refs…

  11. I'm a Canes fan and I was hoping we could hang with this team, but by the end of game 1 it was obvious that is not in the cards. Panthers are bigger, faster, stronger, meaner and more talented offensively. Still think the Canes can take a game or maybe even 2 in this series if we can get Jankowski and Chatfield back. Morrow was an obvious weakness

  12. What a performance by our, boys. So many contributions from every line. Including our 4th liners. Carolina taking runs at Bob is low rent. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ Officer Bobrovsky is on the case. Carolina is in big trouble. He always gets his man. #PLAYOFFBOB #GOCATSGO ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€ MEOW

  13. Retaliation is where Panthers separated themselves. It's not always the initial infraction. You pick the players on the other team that are the "Barometers" the ones that are likely to retaliate. Then you commence on game long agitation until they eventually break. The referee catches the retaliation and it's PAYDAY! 2 Minutes…pick the infraction!

  14. I love your content and breakdowns, you have a gift in explaining the game. Even when I am depressed with a Carolina loss, I immediately come to your channel to hear your take. I have played hockey my entire life, and it's the only sport I watch (I think we only missed two Carolina games this season when my wife and I were traveling internationally)…I really appreciate the unbiased and educational content for people still learning the game and also your knowledge and opinions on players/teams.

  15. Bob was insane in this game. Canes looked out of sync and could have used Chatfield and played the puck and not the player a little more.

  16. Most bottom of bottom lines: the Panthers capitalized on opportunitiesโ€”Carolina fumbling the puck, taking bad penalties, etc. But when opportunities arose for the Canes, they either fumbled the puck away, shot it wide, or shot it right into Bobโ€™s pads (not to take away from Bobโ€™s positioning). No posts or crossbars, just leg pads and chest protector. Canes need to figure out how to score or it will be a short series, and the taunts about not being able to make it past the ECF will continue.

Top players need to be top playersโ€”not just make a good play here and there. As a Canes fan, I havenโ€™t given up hope. But if they lose Thursday, I think it is over. I just would like to see the Canes win one freaking game. Cats are a wagon though, and I donโ€™t believe anyone is going to stop them from grabbing a second consecutive cup.

  17. I still really think the canes get it done in 6-7 games. There gonna come out swinging Thursday, and steal one on the road. They looked very good in my opinion.

  18. canes got my $1500 for 4 seats last night , canes did not do one thing right , wish it was a forfeit so I could at least still have my money. Aho is a front line defender that's capable of scoring, but does not do it nearly enough

  19. Whatever Ghost did, in the following PP canes got, they did poorly. Canes players were not at all prepared for that, and they totally lost themselves in that PP, even worse than what was already a terrible PP peformance in the night. Cats got even more chances than they did in that PP, and I think Canes even did not fire one shot. I can appreciate what Ghost did, but I think Canes did not benefit from that play at all.

  20. As a Washington fan this was a bit satisfying to watch. Though in all honesty I like Carolina and have done for a while.
Carolina played well, but they always play well in the ECF and still tend to get swept. Based on this game it's gonna happen again.
Be interesting to see if they manage to get some bounces and get in the series.

  21. Another terrific breakdown! Looking forward to your breakdown of Stars-Oilers game 1, as well!.

Happened to run across a short video of you that was posted on Bluesky where you talked about your time coaching Seth Jarvis when he was 13. Very cool stuff!

  22. Jordan Martinook called Logan Stankoven a โ€œdog on a bone type playerโ€ in his press conference this morning. Someone has been watching ๐Ÿ‘€

  23. Ive been stewing over this for 48 hrs. The difference is when FLA gets a chance, it's in the net. When CAR gets a chance, it's not.

Flashback to 2023 when we put up like 100 shots per game and none of them went in vs FLA shooting 5 times and scoring on 4 of them

  24. Always enjoy your commentary, and I appreciate and enjoy learning from your vids. Keep up the good work!
