Getting to a 3-0 lead in the series was effectively decisive, as it usually is, so Hurricanes winning game 4 & therefore avoiding a straight sweep elimination was ultimately too little too late.
A third straight Eastern Conference championship & Stanley Cup Final appearance for the Panthers aren't a mere coincidence nor would a second consecutive Stanley Cup championship be surprising.
Whichever Western Conference contender becomes their opponent, I hope wins the Stanley Cup this season, especially if the Oilers reach the Finals again.
