LA is very good defensively. Kuemper is a good goalie. Ekholm injury news is a blow to Oilers. But I still think Oilers will find a way to win the first round.
It’s also worth mentioning that EVEN IF WE WIN ROUND 1, it’s almost inevitable we’ll play the Vegas golden cheaters in round 2, considering they get either St. Louis or Minnesota. I have no faith in the oilers to beat Vegas
they are in…they likely won't get second place…I'd be inclined to just rest the best players and just take the final playoff standings as they come.
Am I missing something? If LA gets just 2 more points in any fashion, they clinch 2nd in the Pacific. The Oilers don’t control the tiebreaker in the RW column. The Oilers don’t control their own destiny from what I am seeing. Kings still play Seattle and Calgary in their final two so home ice isn’t looking good for the Oil.
Noticed a lot of Oiler fans lost faith in this team… maybe they just don’t have it this year, maybe they find a way to scrape by it’s hockey sometimes the most unlikely team prevails plus we have a guy named Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl
Ekholms gone. But Driasatil is going to be back. McDavid Driasatil 2 superstars back in line up. New guys are pumping in goals just as good as Hyman playing with McDavid. I am willing to bet money that if Jeff Skinner played on McDavids line with him all year his stats would be very comparable to Zack hymans. Well heck there comparable already when he played on teams that didn't make the playoffs. Also moving Podkolzin to 3rd or 4th line and moving Corey Perry up to 2nd line will also double or triple the scoring on that line. Perry 17 goals playing on the 4th line. Podkolzin 8 goals playing on 2nd line with "German Gretzky" c'mon stats don't lie. Put your top scorers on your team that statistically prove there top 6 in top 6 there your top 6 scoring lines
I wouldn't be surprised if we get knocked out 4-0 in round 1.
