  1. Steve's weird crusade against "the logic of fighting" is the most infuriating thing ever. For the Domi example, that rule was introduced to prevent goons from seeing a "bad hit" and having their coach tell them to deal with the problem without playing any actual hockey. With Chatfield last week, it was an uncool thing to do but there has to be rules around fighting to keep it in the game.

Fighting is allowed because if it wasn't then players would get suspensions for fighting and not just 5 minute penalties. There are rules to govern fights in order to prevent them from being more dangerous then they already are

  2. I just realized why that penalty exists. It's so a coach can't send a goon over the boards to go after a guy. The goon has to actually do something first.

  3. I wanna see Mitchy strap on some pads, even if its just for a practice. It might be the only position he's never played

  4. 1-0 against an 8th place , 2nd youngest team. Don't break your shoulder patting yourselves on the back. If I was a leafer I'd be worried.

  5. The rule is to prevent players leaving the bench just to fight…Leafs were sucked off by the Refs all night long but okay complain about the right call because its a 'dumb rule' lmao.

  6. The look on the Habs GM face after the winning goal was priceless. Marner continues to show management how much he is worth. I think Leafs will re sign Marner. Do I agree on 14M. NO.

  7. Domi finished a shift, went off and then came right back on the ice for the sole purpose of fighting. That is where the unsportsmanlike call came from. He purposely left the bench to drop the gloves and nothing else. So yes, he was a legal player on the ice but his actions were unsportsmanlike. That is how it was described by a few hockey people.

  8. Only guy Ive seen play D and forward as well as that was Federov, marner is a beast I can’t believe Toronto treats him like they do

  9. Dobes robbed of a star in the game, but a good game.

However, if marner can only score a game winning goal during a period of time when the game is tied, in 3 on 3, youre not making it anywhere until he does it at 5 on 5

  10. No Steve.. you’re wrong again. Stop explaining things that you don’t have a clue about.

They were scrambling to explain that call….

Kind of like how you choose your politics.

    Go Leafs. Fo Pierre.

  11. I mean how many fights start right after a faceoff?! Players will talk to each other at the faceoff dot and then immediately fight each other. That's a dumb rule!

  12. I REALLY wanted to come to that live show at shoeless joes but it had to be the same day as my Jack and Jill for my wedding! Well it was cool we were in the same city at least lol.

  13. What? Suzuki ot breakaway should count as a shot. Habs were a little slow playing back to back.

  14. So standing waiting for a puck to be dropped during a faceoff is a hockey play? Just curious, because how many fights have we seen that occurred after a faceoff , where a 5 min fighting major is the only penalties given.
