That should have been stopped by the rookie goaltender, he committed too fast and never even attempted to come out and reduce what the shooter had a view of the net.
Montreal's goaltenders suffer from cement feet, they never come out of their net……that made them miss the playoffs this year.
Primeau was the worst with cement feet.
Primeau does well in the AHL because players in that league are about a 1/2 second slower which is a huge number in professional hockey.
Montreal has a very bad goaltending coach who refuses to correct obvious flaws in the goaltenders he works with.
The NHL teams know what Dobes weakness is….his cement feet, he doesn't k now how to cut off the attacking player's view of the net.
In this case, Dobes had plenty of time to come out and challenge the attacking player. Likewise on shots from deep in his zone Dobes hugs the post instead of coming off to cut off the angle.
Dobes has to work with his dmen.
Monty is even worse at this.
Montour jumped the draw and they didn’t call it when they were stopping the draw all game for the same reason. Make that make sense.
