The Oilers dropped to 2-4-0 this season without both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl after their absences continued on Saturday afternoon in a 3-0 defeat to the Los Angeles Kings. The Oilers can clinch a playoff spot with a win in any fashion and a Calgary Flames loss in regulation to the San Jose Sharks. Oilers can catch LA if we win our game against them and they lose a game on a night that we win a game. Not out off the realm of possibility, although I think that we will probably end up 3rd.

The Oilers have two very good players, each making 5 times more than the average NHL player.
Take those two off the team and the Oilers have: a mediocre offense. In defense there is 1 overpaid defender Nurse🤑, 2 good defenders Eckholm and Walman, 1 attacking defender Bush, who plays below average in defense, and the rest are mediocre at best. The goalkeepers of «Oilers» are mediocre in the best case. Summary: "Oilers" without Leon and McD is at best a mediocre team. And, yes, coach Knob is a mediocre too at best. 🤪Today Oilers are "Something" like the Ducks , not better) and Frederic is definitely NOT a top 6 player ( line #3 at best IMHO )
I think that right now the most important thing is to get healthy before the playoffs and to make sure the new guys are able to produce for the team. This will be the real key for this season's playoffs, home factor is far behind these two aspects.

Lets go Rodrigue! Hopefully he (and the entire team) can play the full 60 minutes. Players to watch: Nuge, Nurse, Rodrigue. Nuge and the team didn't really show up against LA but honestly we were out with our best players + it was matinee, so I think this game is the one Nuge will offensively lead in. Nurse has been playing great hockey lately, he will most likely lead defensively. Rodrigue is going to have to make some big stops because for whatever reason the Ducks are a top team when we face them, the Oilers have to be tight on defense aswell. Oilers 5-2. I'm willing to write off the last game as a little blip like the Kraken game that ended 6-1, and that this game will go much smoother for the Oilers.
Podkolzkin is not the guy looking in come playoffs. Period.
This lineup isn’t accustomed to increased ice time, they are challenged in the scoring department, and 11 F and 6 D tonight? Ugh! 😑 I predict another loss. I hope Rodrigue shows well for future consideration.
