This Is The ABSOLUTE PERFECT FREE AGENT TARGET For New York Rangers…

New York Rangers have not been anywhere near good enough defensively this season and absolutely are in need of making a big upgrade on the backend. Rangers could look to add in one of the top defensemen from this upcoming free agent class as guys like Aaron Ekblad, Dimitry Orlov, Vladislav Gavrikov and more could become available.

  1. If there's one thing we've learned from the Rangers over a period of time it's that when they sign a player with so called ability he very soon becomes an underperforming liability.

  2. Chemistry aside, the Rangers need defensive players who know how to position their body as well as employ physical play. There is no speed on the Ranger's defense, so positioning and physical play is even more pressing. Fox needs a Jacob Slavin in order to thrive because he ( Fox) is timid and slow. There are VERY FEW players like Slavin, and none of them are available. A trade may be warranted. This defense reminds us just how good Leetch and Beukeboom were for years.

  3. Provorov or Orlov on a two year deal would be ok & give Fortescue & Dorrington a couple of years to progress. Frankly, I'm not a big fan of Soucy & I think Vaak is better than him. There was K'iller last night doing his Kirov Ballet slide taking himself out of the play & turning a 5 on 4 into a 5 on 3. Too bad Dreary didn't include him in the JT trade instead of Mancini. Actually the problem is not just the D corps, it's the stupid man on man system which channels the hockey edition of the Keystone Kops. How many times have we seen players directing other players where to go indicating that they have no idea where to be. The PKers last night were passive & stationary instead of pressuring the puck, resulting in two PP goals against. Messier for GM & let's get this FN mess cleared up!

  4. You can swap out as many players as you want, you've got to change the toxic locker room. Too many reports now about screaming and shouting between periods

  5. you'd think that by now the Rangers would learn that you can't buy your way out this. There isn't a free agent out there that will change this team substantively. We tried the shortcut to rebuilding when we got Panarin. Not enough. We were all drinking the Koolaid that Kane was the answer. Nowhere near enough. Vlad Tarasenko? Sigh…. The only way you fix this team is you move the aging players like Kreider and Mika and you give their minutes to the kids we have wilting in the wings. The team's problem is a cultural one. No one sets the tone. No one sets the standard and no one holds anyone else accountable. Stop thinking that free agency is the answer. It never is. This team doesn't have a spine. Fix that and you can salvage this team. Otherwise next year will just be more of the same.

  6. Lets stop bring in old recycled coaches. No boudreaus, Tortollas, etc. We need new blood that is aggressive and wants to win at all costs.
