What can Leafs learn from loss to Panthers?

The Panthers extended their lead in the Atlantic Division with a win over the Maple Leafs on Thursday night. At times, the game felt like a playoff game, so what will Toronto take away from the loss? TSN Maple Leafs reporter Mark Masters joins Jay Onrait to discuss.

  1. Trying to figuratively-speaking, go nuclear with the lines so that this team has some jump and also maybe bring in some military-style exercise drills into warm-ups for team practices to instill greater discipline.

  2. Leafs learned that even without Florida's two better players, they're still far superior to the leafs. Florida works hard, leafs don't.

  3. Toronto i told u people up in Canada a bunch of losers chokers Matthews nylander marner reilly tarves losers and Tampa will beat them in 1st round period 😂

  4. The Leafs are the only team that can lose by one goal to a good team and have fans completely wet the bed and act like they lost 5-0 to the worst team in the standings. If there is one thing my fellow Leafs fans need, it is optimism. It isn't over until it's over and good teams lose games, especially against good teams. I never doubt the Leafs and I never will, because I have optimism. I was one of the few who believed in 2023's first round, and games 5 and 6 last year. It worked out for me then, it'll work out for me now!

  5. As a leafs fan, I can’t see a reality/timeline in which the leafs pass through both Tampa and Florida.
They need to finish first in the Division, play a wild card team, and get lucky in round 2.
    It’s the only hope.

  6. I am watching this video here in Slovenia . Immigrants are welcome here in Slovenia . Bring lots of your money , as an immigrant , here in Slovenia , and buy a house and vehicles here in Slovenia .

A study on bids and awards on the local real estate market. In government, the cheapest or lowest bid wins. In real estate market, the expensive bid wins.

  7. That the Panthers have a better team. That the Leafs are once again starting to choke as the playoffs approach. That they do not have the grunt players to win the Cup. That Matthews is a regular season player – not a series player. That their streak will be 58 years in a row not even being in a Cup final, never mind winning the Stanley Cup. That the Habs could probably beat them in the first round. And will.

  8. The Leafs record when Matthews-Marner and Tavares-Nylander play together = .484 winning percentage which = 81 points pace per 82 games

The Leafs record when Matthews-Marner are split and Tavares-Nylander are split: .716 winning percentage = 118 points pace per 82 games

If the brains in the leafs org can't figure this out after 6 years, we're done.

  9. Leafs gave the Panthers PP opportunities. 😮
Leafs don’t seem to have a bonafide goal scorer …other than Domin😅

  10. to me, Toronto cannot beat FLA in a series. there is such discipline, work ethic that the Leafs cannot match. and that Bennet line when the big boys are back, they will steamroll the Leafs (assuming they meet up). even that is questionable.

  11. We’re the stronger team. Can take our old players but can’t replicate our identity. If the Leafs make it the 2nd round we’ll bully them once again with our complete team. Go Cats!

  12. The Leafs need to play hard, win puck battles, and play o-zone and d-zone consistently with heart and passion! Special teams also need to improve and maintain high % numbers. I also believe, that the lock room culture needs an overhaul, it is not working. GO LEAFS GO!!!!
