  1. Probably with the Vikings he could win more and be higher on the QB list, but with most teams he is 12 to 18 on the QB list based on the team. If I had to do a 3 or 4 year contract, I would not pay any more for Geno than Darnold, though this year he might be better. He is equal now to Wilson his last 3-4 years with the Seahawks, you can with the NFC west with him.
He is 35 years old, around the same age as Cousins, but Cousins has a 97 lifetime rating about a 600 win percentage while Geno has an 88 lifetime below 500. He might get a few (less than 5M) dollars more as a free agent.

  2. I looked at Geno Smith’s stats when the trade went down and the obvious just jumped out. Career, and pretty consistently by year, he has about a 10-7 TD-2-INT ratio. Now Dr. Sheldon Cooper would have “fun with fractions” on this one. You want a QB to be 2 min where Tom Brady was 3 and Aaron Rodgers is 4+. It would mean that you’d need at least a 14-7 ratio — 2 anyone? — for Geno and he’s well shy of that. But I think this is partially why Seattle’s letting him fly the coop. Let him spread his wings, and his interceptions, elsewhere. (Look at it this way. Jimmy Garropolo was a 2 with the 49ers and they ran him out of town. Now Jimmy also was injury prone. But everyone in SF complained about Jimmy’s picks and he was far better than Geno in that stat.)

  3. I think Seattle should’ve kept DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett and traded Geno Smith. The “eyes” and stat tests tell me I’m mostly right. Instead the Seahawks are blowing up the building like when they had the old Kingdome. Remember that implosion? I think it’s technically an implosion at leads.

  4. It’s hard to find a QB, so how does it make sense for Seattle! You can not get rid of a decent starting QB.

  5. The Seahawks robbed themselves of value in order to lose these two. The reason will not be told anytime soon.

  6. Sorry guys…the Hawks were willing to pay Geno what he wanted but he wanted the trade to the Raiders instead

  7. Why would the Raiders want a contract deal with Geno Smith in place. He's a mediocre QB in his mid 30s. Okay enough because of his history with Pete Carroll to have for a season or two but he's certainly not a foundational piece let alone anything remotely approaching "franchise QB" level, even if he were 10 years younger.

  8. This proves tattoos are a SEVERE mental illness or Crosby would have already announced his retirement. Raiders basically blew draft capital on a qb you pick up on the waiver wire. Raiders 79-117 since 2013….3-2 versus geno smith. tom tuck 4-1 against the career backup qb. Chris simms, a career 3 round qb is talking down to the average raider fan. Geno smith is hot trash. The Raiders are tanking. The mentally ill owner with gift the career back up probably $200M guaranteed because his family no doubt kept geno types as pets but the Raiders are looking at maybe a 2-15 season.
