I personally think he waited too long. Most of the contenders (Wild) made the moves they needed to make. Sure it can maybe still be done but I’m not sure if Brock, Palmz, JGP have NMC or MNMC. Just a frustrating situation all around.
You can’t extend 2 30 plus guys period. Maybe Nelson but not both. You have to get younger.
I'm sure Bill Torrey sleeps better at night thinking his mistake was holding onto guys too long. He jettisoned guys like Tonelli & T.Jonsson for a bag of fritos & a player to be named later.
I agree with your core … obviously Sorokin is a part of that! I want to add Prospects Cole, Danny, George, and Jessie the Hulk. We need to change 4 of the Top 6 ! It is a must! Trade off as many outside the core! Time to add younger players, prospects, and draft picks! Liking expired Milk is a bad idea! Yes ! Love the players but time to let go! Brock, Palms, Lee, Mayfield, Pelech, Pulock, Dobson. Zeeks and JGP for the right deal! Lou needs to retire! Not confident in Roy or the coaching staff I want a clean slate! Pelech and Pulock and Mayfield should be traded no matter the Return! Dobson to one of the 5 worst teams for their 1 st rd pick! If not I would do Dobson for Kyrou for starters.

As you've said before, Lou is going to Lou. Which basically means, the team is going to be this same aging, slow team for as long as Lou is the GM. It's sad to say, but that's our reality. The worse thing the team did was play as well as they did against the Jets. I agree what you said about Sorokin. He is the best player on the team and I would love to see him use his talents on a contender for the cup. Bo Horvat gets the 'C' for sure. Everyone, have a great day! I disagree with you Gil, we need to rebuild now not retool. When the season starts Bo will be 30, i would like to see him also being traded. this is rad but this is what i would do, If Winnipeg is interested in Nelson give us Brad lambert straight up. If Minn. wants him give us Liam Ohgren straight up. Trade Bo for a first rounder in this years draft, maybe get a R/W Logen Hensler or a D-man Jackson Smith or a L/W Victor Eklund. I'd like to see them reshape the core of this team this year and next. Trade Brock, Palms, and either Pelech or Pulock this year. Trade Lee, Pageau and the other defenseman next year. The cap is set to rise dramatically by the summer of 2026. We should be much younger , faster, better, and ready to really compete in 2026-27
Lou should retire! Roy can be interim GM. He’s a good coach and was dealt tge hand that Lou gave him! Bottom line!
If we deal 29/21, maybe others, we will have assets and money to make such a huge splash in FA to get the right pieces. If nothing else, younger players that can be exciting to watch develop. Unless its bottom of the barrel deal for Nelson to be kept here, hes gotta go.
