Re the locking down the game, reporter should have been more specific. Sharks did not play well defensively and perhaps that is what he was alluding to. Talent is there for SJS, but they need a lot of D work. With Blackwood gone, D issues are going to be more apparent. Also, there is an old adage in hockey… “keeping the flies off your stars”. Celebrini is not only super skilled, he also goes to the tough areas on the ice and is increasingly vulnerable to potentially “accidentally on purpose” cheap shots. Sharks need to make sure they keep the flies off Celebrini, while he also learns to protect himself.

Million in cap space when Vlassic and Couture are gone. The Sharks should make Toffoli captain now. Celebrini will most likely sign with a Cup contender in 1-3 years it’s better for his stats and future. Unfortunately it’s a long rebuild process.

Gosh, I feel badly for this hard working kid. Maybe keep him away from the media with their dumb ass questions when he has clearly had a bad game.
Macklin was almost paralyzed in the first and ghosts were high sticking utah. As an athlete I can see the tears of frustration wanting to come out.

Wow, you can really tell how young he is. He has such a long and bright future (if the Sharks can protect him from cheap hits like this…)
