Alex Ovechkin’s 2 Goals Assisted by Beck Malenstyn

Bringing his Capitals tenure to an end this offseason by signing with the Sabres, Beck Malenstyn assisted Alex Ovechkin twice in his four seasons in Washington. The only player Malenstyn assisted more often is Nic Dowd (6 times). Both assists to Ovechkin were even-strength empty-net goals, the first on November 11, 2023 against the Islanders and the second on February 10, 2024 in Boston. Malenstyn was the primary assistor on each.

These goals were Ovechkin’s 56th and 57th career empty-net goals, with which he tied and passed Wayne Gretzky for most empty-net tallies in NHL history.
