Best tip I ever got from a great coach. If a kid will sit and pay attention for at least a period. Every game, have them pick a different player at a different position.
Then that entire period, watch that player. Focus on them. Wait for their shift, where’d they go? What’d they do?
What ya think they’re gonna go/do next?
It really helps them get to know the flow of a game.
On a face off, bet snacks where that player is going to head on puck drop.
