    The most interesting thing about this is that Petterrson says he wants to be on a winner. Even if he went with some of his Swedish buddies, it would take years to build a defense and everything else it takes time to build a winner. So this rumor goes counter to what he’s expressed in the past. If it’s true, Vancouver should look to trade him and get a king ransom to bolster this team.

    For the love of god!! Cgy needs to move on from their core players, I can’t take it anymore. Let’s make a deal with NJ, let’s move on from Markstorm and Hanifin. From the little research I’ve done, Hanifin would be a better fit than Tanev. I like doing mock trades but have no idea what NJ would have to offer. Who they be willing to part with and which young NHL ready players and high/ mid grade prospects are.

    Only way this happens is if the Hawks land Celebrini. Petterson and Canucks first for Celebrini. I did hear that a 1 year deal offer sheet could be problematic for Van. If they match then they only get the 1 year and Petterson can walk as a ufa. Also, if they match they can't trade him. So there's that.

    Good win, but they still need to look for a right Dman and the person that could fill that spot if they can get Tanev that would improve it so much, and if the Oilers could make it happen but try and see if they could get left and a center men and that man could be Jake Guentzel and put him on the second Line with Draisaitl, that would be something and I wouldn't complain…. but getting Tanev and put him on the right side the defence will be more better I don't think Oilers don't need to rush and really worry about a goaltender goaltender will be better as a goalie, when the defence do there job and help out and take puck shots, and that's where Tanev should come in.. and if they have enough to get another trade I would go for Jake Guentzel

    Skinner has been playing well and continuing to get better. He was a real standout tonight. Given that and the state of the goalie market, I doubt Edmonton trades for a starting goaltender unless his game collapses again in the playoffs. They don't have any cap space and they have other things on their wishlist, same reasons why Guentzel isn't a fit. But for their overall tandem, they really need to know how ready Rodrigue is. I don't think anyone is realistically expecting Binnington-level first year results out of him, but if he can take the backup spot, that would be huge. They for sure don't want to spend a bunch of time, picks, and prospects getting another goalie on a multiyear contract if it seems like Rodrigue is on the verge of making the jump to the NHL.

    As a long time Devils fan ,I'm definitely all in for Tanev ,a true defensive defenseman being in a trade to the Devils, just not keen on Markstrom being between the pipes ,i feel Gibson would be a much better fit ,especially considering the age difference between the 2 ,put Gibson on a younger Devils team & I'd be willing to bet his stats go up ,but anyway, I'd rather see Gibson & Tanev in New Jersey.
