[Matthew Fairburn] The Sabres sent Matt Savoie back to the WHL yesterday after giving him 3:55 Friday. Then they played 11 forwards in a 4-0 loss to the Penguins. Their depth at forward is a problem, and if Savoie isn’t the answer, it might be time to look outside for help.

You can live with a player like Okposo, and to a lesser extent Girgensons, playing 4th line minutes, however if they are playing 3rd line minutes you’re probably going to run into some problems.
Here’s my humble opinion, ditch oloffson, as soon as we can it’s time to send KO and ZG home to roost (they’ve had a good long life on the farm) and holy shit, can we settle down on or two goalies? Thank you, that is all
They played seven games in less than two weeks, had a bunch of travel and some injuries, and had a couple of back to backs in there. They’re tired. They dropped a stinker against Pitt as a result. That is all this was. Everyone needs to relax.
I know people aren’t high on Party Kane but maybe he helps solve this issue?
It was time to look outside last season when we caught lightning in a bottle. Career years for multiple players should have been a signal to hit the gas, not pump the breaks. “Let’s keep our fingers crossed that so and so is finally ready to make the jump from Rochester NEXT season, that’ll fix our problems.” This is the Sabres mantra and hearing over and over again makes me feel crazy.
