If they keep this up, they’ll get another lottery pick.

And the Chicago Blackhawks are doing everything they can to continue to hide the scope of the systemically protected assault.

It’s ok guys, the team had a meeting to hold each other accountable. /s

Throw the fucking book at the Blackhawks no franchise in league history has ever deserved it more than this organization.

What did the NHL even do when they “investigated”? Shame on the league. The Blackhawks too, obviously, but for the league to suggest they handled this situation is disgusting at best.

Chicago punishment: receiving Ottawa’s first round pick

“Even more shocking, it was revealed that top-level team executives were aware of the incident but failed to report it to law enforcement, leaving human resources in the dark for weeks. After leaving the Blackhawks, Brad Aldrich resurfaced at Houghton High School in Michigan, taking on a role as a volunteer coach.”

This isn’t a new allegation. It’s a player from the original set of allegations going after the organization for money he rightfully deserves.
I’d like to take this opportunity to remind the rest of the league that we need to make sure those responsible for the coverup don’t get back in the league. Coach Q and Stan Bowman should be banned in perpetuity, and Cheveldayoff escaped punishment completely and is currently GM of the Jets.

Sue the whole shitty franchise out of existence.

Absooooooooooooutley this . Talk about hitting the nail on the head .
What’s more Erroneous then the cover up / the gifting of a 1OA / that player being a generational talent and also from Vancouver ( the place Kyle beach is from ) Or even the response as a whole from the league being awful, like all of those things are disgusting.
But what really really really bothers me is this franchises continued energy to down play a seemingly systemic internal SA History and be given a green light from the league to deflect / burry and down play this and it’s so gross to see this environment still being allowed to actively behave this way and the inevitable culture that thrives in environments that reward sexual predators
On a lot of subreddits I see some Chicago fans arguing that they either a) don’t see there being any disparity : unfairness between the punishments that have been dealt out in regard to Ottawa loosing a first rounder for a clerical error and Chicago walking away with a generation 1OA number 1 pick the following draft or
b)arguing that if hypothetically they were penalized a 1st rounder that it wouldn’t have been the bedard draft so it’s there for a mute point .
If this league really wanted to foster a culture of this sort of thing not happening . There would be some form of legitimate punishment to deter people in the future from participating/ aiding or creating an environment where this sorts thing can happen . Basically take the logic they took against Ottawa and punishing them for a clerical error and apply that to something a bit more fitting for the crime like a team that covered up the sexual abuse of multiple players for over a decade …you can tell nothing if anything has been learned and it’s deeply frustrating to see

This guy is scum and deserves everything that’s coming to him

I have always been troubled by the San Jose Sharks connection to this story.
His father has been a long time part of the team, Brad started out there.
I’m sure he was recommended by Doug Wilson, a former Black Hawk and when the accusations started I can assure you that DW and the elder Aldrich were contacted.
All these guys that cover up abuse should be held accountable.

TIL he was only 27 when he did this. I always assumed he was an older guy and his age gave him an air of authority that allowed him to assault the players without them pushing back.
