Detroit Red Wings’ Chiarot Busted For Being Bucketless
Detroit Red Wings defenseman Ben Chiarot was penalized for playing without a helmet against the Seattle Kraken. More on the play – and the rule: https://scoutingtherefs.com/2023/10/41552/wings-chiarot-busted-for-being-bucketless/
This should not be a penalty. I can get if he took his own helmet off but he got hit and it came off. So basically you can check a guy and make his helmet come off then he can’t touch the puck. That’s a bullshit rule and we all know it.
The refs and the announcers both don't understand hockey. The player is allowed to finish the play as long as the puck remains in his vicinity. Which it did.

What a bunch of homers on that broadcast, I bet they had the same energy when Schwartz threw the stick.
