Possible Jean-Gabriel Pageau Trade Between Edmonton Oilers + Ottawa Senators | Oilers Trade Rumours

My look at what a possible Jean-Gabriel Pageau trade to the Edmonton Oilers might look like, and what the Oilers might have to send to Ottawa Senators to get him. Would you want to do a trade for Pageau? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. If I read Cap Friendly right Ottawa has 5.2 million available in Cap space right now. The trade proposed would drop that, probably by over 3 million. The Oilers are around 750K. Right now we have to deal with UFA's as follows: Sam Gagne, Zach Kassian, Marcus Granlund, Josh Archibald, Gaetan Haas, Joakim Nygard, Riley Sheahan, Patrick Russell, Brandon Manning, Mike Smith, and Kyle Brodziak plus several RFA's including Ethan Bear that will be important factors to come. Out of the UFA list many of these guys have proven their worth which is what makes them valuable in trades. Love the analysis as always. My concern with Pageau is that he's older and a UFA so it would be like renting someone for the playoffs not actually someone you keep long term. Not sure they want to include Sam Gagne in any discussion right now as he's popular with the coach and a utility player they can slot in either in C or a wing as needed and he shows up.

  2. We need to just give Larson away.
He is like a disease for our team .
It's kind of like the babe ruth trade from Boston.
We just lose when hes in the lineup.

  3. If im Ottawa it starts with Puljujarvi and Benning. They want young players with controllable contracts why da hell would they want Gagner and Larsson

  4. I was talking about a JGP trade with Rugged English in one of your earlier videos. I'd love to see him in an Oilers sweater

  5. This is how u mismanage assets. Do not buy high at the deadline. Also do not waste assets at the dl just when u finally have a decent season. Make an actual hockey trade for a player that will help now and into the future. Make sure u can afford to keep the player. This is not the year to go all in there will be a ton of options in the off season(trades, cap dumps and signings). We need a steady hand. Pageau is the prime example of buying high. You do realise if he did go off and score a ton he will go thank you for trading for me. Now I'm cashing out. Getting Pageau for 4 mil is dreaming if he scores 25 goals he will get 5 mil easy. Look at the Coyle contract that he signed with the bruins and hes not even scoring at Pageau level.

  6. i don't think ottawa would want to trade pageau for larsson. Larsson is too old, the team is looking for younger talent. I was thinking maybe puljarvi instead, he fits the young bill and edmonton seems to be on the ropes with him. enjoyed the video

  7. I mean Ottawa is a terrible team, in a rebuild, I feel like if they move Pageau there isn’t a chance it’s for Current pieces unless they are probably 24 and under. Probably looking for picks and prospect, especially they way people throw those around come the deadline. I’ll say no chance they make that deal.

  8. I can see Pageau going to Edmonton in a package that might also include chewing Gagner's contract and I dunno what else..but the main interest would be Edmonton's first round pick..unprotected. If Oilers move up the ranks, the unprotected will mean nothing, but if the pick is lottery protected, I don't know what the deal would be, but can still see a deal done.
