Give em 10 more games, if they can remain above the wildcard spot in their division, i'll start getting really excited, no cup but I mean playoffs even just round 1 would be incredible. The fan base needs it, we've been in a depression for years

For me, I’m just cautiously optimistic
The Canucks greatest challenge this week will be the Sharks. Not because the Sharks are a good team, but because of the 'nucks historical repeated pattern of not "getting up" for these types of games.
I see the Canucks losing this game because they will simply be outworked by a team that's probably very fired up for this game.
If I'm wrong, fantastic!! but I doubt I am, I've watched this team for 35 years now, and after that amount of time you start to see some patterns that others don't.
Like I said, I hope I'm wrong and this years team proves otherwise; but they have to earn my trust because it's been shatt on over and over for decades now.

How could you not see how the team looked better after Tocchet began as coach last year. Then seeing the free agent signings.
Starting to believe but I want to see 10 more games. If they keep the pedal to the floor well thing are going good they might just do it. Still seeing few of bad habits but only for short periods so I know there's going to be a rough stretch comming somewhere when they get fatigued and injured hopefully they build a cushion early🤞
It is still early in the season. I have been very happy with their play in October. They are playoff contenders at this point. My concern is where will Calgary and Edmonton be at the end of December?
I love that Pettersson and other guys are honest and say they want to win. I want players who want to win on my team. I've definitely heard those clips before and thought "Well they're probably gone". The reason is with Benning and the overall management of the team for a decade, I didn't feel like they were going to be able to make a team that could really compete and keep those guys around. I always felt the Canucks needed to commit to a rebuild or at least a multi year retool, and those guys weren't going to want to stay for that.
With new management, some good pro scouting, and the prospect of losing Pettersson if we don't at least TRY to make the playoffs, I'm all in on going for it. Even if we have some hurdles along the way like the OEL buyout cap hit, now is the time to go for the playoffs for better or worse. I only hope they don't trade any 1st or 2nd round picks until the deadline where they'll have an idea how possible playoffs are at that point.
They're making the playoffs, it's for sure. I'm certain. It's not just an "on paper " type of outlook. It's based on how they're playing. Some players have yet to put up expected numbers so, there is a bit of depth now. They were without the two new signings, although Suter has been back and then Blueger, soon? Let the farm develop…
The young-ish players like Pety, Hughes, and Boeser are pretty close to done developing, and they're ready to compete now. You can't tell them the team should tank for another 3yrs for high draft picks and then compete for a Cup…
