Chicago weren’t punished harshly enough as well. Both things can be and are true. But they weren’t somehow “rewarded” or “given” bedard because of the scandal.
Stick to the truth: They won a rigged lottery because they’re an original 6 team in a huge market that was at risk of fading into obscurity at a time when the league can’t afford to lose viewership.

I’m NOT saying Chicago got rewarded for covering up a scandal. I’m saying they didn’t get PUNISHED, and by chance got Connor Bedard, a generational talent.
Meanwhile other clubs lose their first round pick for much more minor stuff.

It amazes me that when sites like Cap friendly know players have NTC or NMC in their contract but the NHL and it’s teams can’t figure it out?
Ottawa is getting shafted here by Bettman and the league really can’t justify it. Especially since it took so long. If we followed the same length of time for the Chicago incident then they would lose the Bedard pick if the punishment was consistent.
Obviously the league is trying to put the new owner in his place. Dudes probably got buyers remorse.
