oilers defensive woes are result of playing man to man in D zone ..result is Def out at blue line and a winger trying to protect the front of net ,really bad when you dont have 1 D man in front,.Old school hockey always 1 D man in front and wingers take the points …so basic but now adays everyone collaspes to net .dont work when you have talented forwards like rangers.

To be honest I'll be fine with re-signing JP but at 3×1.5 or 4×1.25 based on the performance of this year and leading up, everyone has a down season, we have yet to see JP put up prime numbers and he could very well be a wicked power forward who can drive the puck to the net and pass to any of the boys. If he asks for anything 1.75> I'm afraid we'll have to let him walk or trade for an asset.

JP extension for league minimum at best. He is taking ice time from developing players that show more promise.
