  1. Why would you sign a guy who's repeatedly asked to be traded and who clearly can't play here. He's had countless opportunities to get going here and can't do it. Both the team and player need to split. Honestly, trade him for a bag of pucks, let him go on waivers. He's poison in the locker room and for team. Just watch extend him and watch the dominoes fall. Goodbye mcdavid, draisaitl, and so on. Holland needs to get this done and stop trying to get something for nothing. This team has the top players in the league and still fighting for the playoffs. Jesse can't and won't help the team only himself. It's time for a move on. If Holland can't do it then he needs to go. Hockey is business not a fairy tale.

  2. oilers defensive woes are result of playing man to man in D zone ..result is Def out at blue line and a winger trying to protect the front of net ,really bad when you dont have 1 D man in front,.Old school hockey always 1 D man in front and wingers take the points …so basic but now adays everyone collaspes to net .dont work when you have talented forwards like rangers.

  3. JP extension for league minimum at best. He is taking ice time from developing players that show more promise.

  4. Need more production on right wing. Kane would provide that. If Toronto and St. Louis can get together and make a huge trade then the Oilers should be able to figure something out with Kane. That's assuming he would agree to come to Edmonton.

  5. Doesn't JP need a qualifying offer over 3M? If they can get him for under a Mill I would sign him

  6. To be honest I'll be fine with re-signing JP but at 3×1.5 or 4×1.25 based on the performance of this year and leading up, everyone has a down season, we have yet to see JP put up prime numbers and he could very well be a wicked power forward who can drive the puck to the net and pass to any of the boys. If he asks for anything 1.75> I'm afraid we'll have to let him walk or trade for an asset.

  7. Two Kanes in the same locker room. So what happens with their names on their jerseys? Would it be E.Kane and P.Kane or E.Kane and Kane. Or P.Kane and Kane lol. I’m just saying. I had this thought if this trade actually happened.

  8. If they extend JP, it should be for more of a bottom 6 type of cap hit (approximately $1M-$1.5M per year). Lately he has shown to play better on the third line compared to the top 6.

  9. The Oilers need to figure this roster business out because it’s starting to cost us wins

  10. Puljujaarvi – unless it's for under $1 million and for only 1 year, don't bother. Kane – the Oilers don't need yet another top 6 (rental) forward, and one whose physical status has been questioned by some commentators. … If these are going to be Holland's main "deals," then get ready for the Oilers to waste another year of 29 & 97s' tenure.

  11. If Holland is signing JP then he must be on glue. Put JP on waivers and you will see exactly what his worth is. ZERO. He will be the Zamboni driver in Bakersville in no time. The Laffs pick up O'Rilley and we are still talking JP? Give your head a shake bruh.

  12. He's been given more than a fair shake, playing with some of the best players in the game…regardless of bias sentimentality, this is a business, 1️⃣st & foremost. Thus far, he's a bottom 6 forward, with an established inability to score on a regular basis. He's overpaid, especially considering today's cap issues & team priorities. His current contract is an ISSUE, making is marketabilty a problem.

  13. I thought Jesse had another year on his contract so why do they need to extend him?Unless it’s some kind of cap mojo.
