Sam Lafferty unsportsmanlike conduct – Tough Call Recommendation
Sam Lafferty stickhandled his way to the net and tucked the puck between the goalie’s legs and into the net. Unfortunately this all took place after the obvious whistle.
To me it doesn't even seem like he's trying to shoot the puck. He started with the dangle before even processing the whistle. Konecny was hooking him as well. It took a second for everyone to realize the play is over. Meanwhile the puck had momentum and I think Lafferty was trying to swipe the puck away but couldn't really reach it so he let it go. Konecny's overraction is way worse than the supposed shot.
An automatic 10 is stupid. Give him two, let him fight whoever wants to step up from the other team for the disrespect. Then he can serve five for fighting and someone else can serve his two for unsportsmanlike conduct giving the other team a PP. Fines do nothing. They're not enough money to deter millionaires. Getting your face punched in definitely leaves a lasting impression that 5000 dollars doesn't.

You are so far out of line with that call. He was reaching to pull it back and stopped before he hit the goalie, which would have been WAY worse. Not a shot, not a penalty.
I'm glad you're not on the committee for rules in hockey. Unsportsmanlike maybe, but 10 minutes is overkill for that scenario. A little overreaction on your part.
Literally looked unintentional to me and I'm a goalie who hates when guys do this to me more than anyone. Two and ten is steeeeeeeeep – let the guys handle this one on the ice, to me it shouldn't even go for a penalty unless it's legitimately blatant

Two plus a fine for sure, with escalating punishment each time it happens, but not an automatic 10, in my opinion.

When you hear the whistle, just leave the puck. There is no need to dangle with it. Play is dead, so leave it.
That is just dumb. You'll get a penalty or you'll get a fist into your face. In most cases, both.

Na this shouldn’t be more than a 2 minute, to even compare this to a 10 minute major where great bodily injury usually occurs is kinda dramatic
