They’re not wrong though, Aho is really debatably our only superstar.
What we have is a system and a culture that lets people do better than others expected. Look at Necas last year as a prime example. People were yelling to trade him the year before. Or Jarvis. Or Staal 2 (maybe 3?) years ago. They all bounced back to be monsters.

We really don’t have a single superstar on the roster. Nobody comes close. What we do have is a well rounded lineup that fields 4 competitive lines. Not many teams have that kind of depth. When you shut down McDavid and Drais, who’s left to worry about?
