So I included some stats for the Rangers as they're the only ones that scored (DOH). Another poor defensive effort. ZERO offence. I mean ZERO from the Oilers. The suckage continues boys and girls, something smells and needs to be taken out. We'll see what happens, take care all.
ok either 1 of two things 1 either woody has lost the room or 2. the players are not buying into new system…either way Oilers are 31st of 32 Teams!!!!!! cup contender my ass
When a team is this unprepared to play… game after game… the blame is all on the coach. Especially when a team THIS talented gets outplayed in every aspect of the game. For whatever behind the scenes reason the majority of these players do not want to play for this coach. It’s also obvious in Leon’s comments (Kane’s too). Leon defends the players when they make a mistake while Jay blames all the players (“man to man”) for everything & accepts none of the responsibility. A growing riff has developed between coach & players. Likely caused by many things we will never know about. We just see the results. The horrendous team stats from a core group of extremely gifted players proves it. Oilers went from playing too much catch-up in games last year to playing catch-up for their season just to make the playoffs. Dumping Jay is the only answer if Oilers want to win now.
Sometimes teams that come up short in postseason play..quality effort..the stress and disappointment sometimes reduces the results in the next seasons. Players involved have to be able to move forward but sometimes they just don’t.
Sometimes the coach does not do well with this. Todd McClellan voluntarily stepped down after coaching Sharks..losing to Kings after being up to 3-0 in series.
It is for team as a whole along with players and Coach Woodcroft to come up with a vision ..the season is barely underway.
We probably wouldve won 5-0 . Skinner was sharp regardless of the score , gotta find positives as a ranger fan i know about disappointment.( 6:00ish you call shesterkin Sorokin)
So everything people said last year has come to fruition all at once. Bad Defense, Bad Goaltending. A PP that would come back to earth, leading to less scoring and less scoring at 5v5 since teams won't be nearly as afraid of their PP now. Guess they won't be pushing Vegas for the division title this year…..
Well I have a different take on this. The Oilers are sub-consciously removing all expectations from most people’s minds. That’ll give them the breathing room to get moving as the team they truly are. They were and still are cup contenders BUT now they can do it on their terms because they’ve removed the pressure of EXPECTATIONS (a high performance athletes’ worst enemy). Mark my words. This is far from over ! No knee-jerk reactions, no coach firing, just stay the course.
Ask any Canucks fans how it was virtually impossible to get into a playoff spot when they started the season 0-5-2 last yr, and they had an impressive run at the latter part of the season too since Tocchet came in for them, and they still didn't make the playoffs. So this 1-5-1 start is just one point more than what the Canucks had at this point last season, so I would not say that I'm going out on a limb here in saying yes it is time to panic.
It's time to look at trades and start with Leon he can not ever carry a puck through anyone ….dump Conner Brown and get a real goalie …keep Skinner dump Campbell and change out the defense ….
Mark my words there is no chance they are making the playoffs. And no chance Leon and McD are resigning new contracts. Im a die-hard oilers fan going ba k to the haydays of the 80's but this years performance hurtz more than the decade of darkness. There are zero excuses for hks thsy have besn playing tgese last 8 games.

Fire the coach
Watched the game live (German time 3 am) and I am still shocked…not sure what to say…it is embarrassing….still hope…?!

Looking like pretenders not contenders.

Get rid of the coaches.

Should have put Weight and Huddy in the game. There would have been a lot more effort!
Tough one wow. Thanks for the update Patrick. Puss poor is correct 🤮
If this is the team that Holland as a cup contender Oilers fans they won't see the playoffs
Thought they were just of to a slow start but now it just seems like they are not a competetive club.

The look on your face at the beginning of video said it all.

I'm guessing the only thing that could be done, maybe not could be done but easiest thing is to fire Woody
