Just hard to watch Columbus have their way with dirty hits to Xehjac, Newhook, Harris and stapling so many to the boards plus Barron airborne after a BIG hit. I REALLY feel like size matters; we are just on the edge with number of smaller players. Thank goodness they changed it up after a powerplay where they were doing 100% drop pass and look for Caufield. Kudos to both Matheson and Caufield for trying something different on the PP! When Cole has space… he is lethal!!! Slaf growing and I hope learning the North American game. Have fun Saturday at the Bell Centre!
tons of positives for this game. but the penalty kill is still a problem. we r so none aggressive!!! but the positives r , caughfield plays like our best player. mathison plays like our best defender, montibuat plays like our best goalie. josh was going. paerson played well, sazuki's dog must not have died , he played well… one question drew why cant we let ski go to lavel & get some confidence? a roy, heinaman or beck would make the habs much better. why drew why??
The crowd was electric last night. Very lucky to have witnessed a great game. Those of us in the crowd just knew Cole was going to score the OT winner.
What an exciting 2nd half of the game. Suzuki looked really good for the 1st time this season. He is back! The top line still needs to fill the missing piece on the right side. Anderson and RHP just not getting it done this year yet. If Roy or someone can take that spot and deliver results, we will actually have a chance to make the playoffs. We are getting good goaltending, and our Defense is growing very well.
Caufield really has a high hockey IQ. At 1 24 remaining to the OT Caufield was rushing alone to the net and he tried to deflect his shot off the defenseman stick. He knew he did not have a teammate on his right.
Matheson is the anchor on that PP. He is one under rated player. Obviously he still has issues after his being hurt last season but he will get the mojo back
This game got me angry last night. Those 2 early dirty hits and nothing being done about them at all really. I wanted us to win this one so bad after that. I am so proud they pulled out the win tonight.

Back to back sloppy games. I think we’re lucky to win this, still early but we need to be better especially in our zone.
