Phew! After being up 5-1 on the Senators, the Sabres hang on for a 6-4 victory in Ottawa. Sneaky Joe breaks down what the Sabres did to roll the Senators in the first 55 minutes of the game, and what they did to almost blow it in the final two. And why you take any win in these circumstances.
Plus, Alex Tuch gets on the board! And Tage Thompson does twice.

LOCK IT DOWN!!!! hopefully they learn from this. But good to see some offense.
Alex Tuch eye is concerning it looks like he went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson
I don't really blame UPL for most of the goals. They got scrambly in front of him and got way out of position. 2 of the late goals were guys left wide open in scoring position. The just broke down defensively.
man this was such an entertaining game sabres hockey is back
Sabres got sucked in a bit on the scrappy play. I get the need to stand up, but they took it a bit too far and it almost cost them. Happy they found their shots and put some in the net tonight.
That pass from Tuch to Skinner was a no-look pass. Did you notice that?
I love hard working greasy goals from us. UPL looked sharp some of the night. Our guns showed up tonight
Skinner could very well be a 50 goal scorer this year and make the playoffs for the first time in his career, good for him!
Joe – you do a great job recapping these games. Keep up the great work.
It was nice to see Thompson, Tuch, & Skinner score in the same game!
Let's Go Buffalo! 🦬 ⚔️
I’ll be honest, when Rob Ray suggested that the Sabres should fall back and “protect the lead”, I wanted to reach through my screen and SLAP him! Right after that Ottawa scored! That is the EXACT reason you don’t take your foot off the gas! Even if you’re unable to run the score up, you don’t stop trying to. The second you do, your opponent will take the opportunity to do it for you! And it almost happened!
I find it ironic that on the night that they celebrated Craig Andersons retirement, we had such an “amazing” goaltending duel. lol
