I think a lot of people are tired of these players blaming the coach.
Kadri and Huberdeau got exactly what they asked for last year, with the mean Sutter gone from the team. Yet they still aren’t giving an effort.
You have the 4th line giving effort, Lindholm and Ruzicka as well but haven’t seen much from most of the others on forward.
They really need to bench or sit some of these “star” players to send a message. I am so tired of Kadri especially but after last game Huberdeau can sit as well.

Kadri goes “the effort is there”. Bold statement after the performance he’s been putting on. His whole interview was way too easy going for me. How is he not the most pissed off guy in the city right now? Unless he legit doesn’t give a fuck cause he got paid already

Don’t get me wrong, I am happy Zadorov is always so outspoken and will tell it how it is.
I don’t want to be super nit picky here but where is Backlund in all this?
He’s the captain. Should he not be the one standing in front of the media communicating this to the media/fans?
I don’t understand why Backlund has taken a background role on the slow start to the season?
Yes, most of us are bagging on this team maybe even unfairly so this early into the season. However, don’t you think the captain should be the one delivering these kinds of messages in the media/to their team?
I’m probably reading too much into it and maybe Backlund is more the “lead by example” type captain and not so much a “vocal leader” type. But, I find it concerning the man who is supposed to be leading this squad (and supposedly who has been for the past few seasons) is completely silent in the media and not expressing his views on the slow start.
In comparison I feel like you would see Iggy and Gio dig into the tough media questions when it was required. But so far I haven’t seen the same reaction from Backlund.
I’m glad players are willing to answer the tough questions and I don’t mean to take anything away from Zadorov and his answers by any means.
But I just find the absence of the captain in the media odd and it gives off an apathetic vibe to me.

I’m assuming Zadorov’s including himself in those comments because he’s been pretty bad recently too. He was great in game 1 but it’s been a struggle defensively with him after that.
