If anyone was seriously interested in Primeau the trade would of already been made, the Canadiens are in love with Monty and Allen, i would go as far as to say that signing Montembault at all was a disavow on Primeau even as a 2nd goaler.
Quick
I think as a king fan so far we have to see a bit more that Winnipeg game was great. But yeah an 82 million dollar roster backed by 2.5 mill in goalies is a bit hard to physically say, if Copley can get better and Talbot gets consistent the kings look like genius’s and right now we do not lol. By a bit more I’d say 7-8 more games would really be crunch time that’s at the very least 2-3 more showings per goalie. Seems that McClellan favors talbot over Copley. Which sucks cause Copley got us into the playoffs and didn’t get to play there either so I think McClellan has part to do with it too
It doesn't make much sense at glance but Primeau was drafted under the Bergevin regime and now Bergevin is in the King's organization
Primeau didn't take the bull by the horn over the past 5 pro years where opportunities abound.
Mtl should trade Allen, not Primeau. At least there is return value.
The 24 year old former 7th round pick has done quite well for himself. He was great at Northeastern, He has been, im going to say a good AHL goalie in Laval. He has gotten into 21 games with the habs over five seasons and has underwhelmed . I liked Charlie Lindgren better. That said he's young and I am no goalie coach or scout or anything goalie.
LA is desperate. They made the mistake of taking on Cam Talbot in the off season and so far he's been a dud. They haven't recaught lightning in a bottle with Pheonix Copley. LA thrived with average and at times less than average goaltending last year. Dave Rittich is their third choice and someone will have to clear waivers to pull him back. Primeau might help. You don't have to be great (korpisalo) to succeed in LA. Montreal if they can get someone / something for Primeau that be nice. Second round pick.
IT is early to panic. Petersen got in 10 games before they gave up on him. Quick got in 31 games. They should make a move quicker than that this year.
Try Rittich before you go get Vladar.
Fix it early. A good goalie last year and they would have won their division in a doddle.
If they are able to get some really good value for Allen, i would consider trading him. But it appears Allen wont be traded. Also would be careful regarding extension for Monty. Unfortunately for the Kings, a good solution would involve Calgary but not sure a trade with division rivals would occur.
because the only one who believe in him its bergevin
The Kings will make a trade for a goalie before the trade deadline and no, this trade is not it. They are betting that they’ll get average goaltending from Copley/Talbot. I doubt that’ll be the pair going into the playoffs.
This is a 30 game into the season thing
Wait and see. We might be in a Wild card race, but we ain't winning the Cup
So let's all see
I say, the Habs trade Allen and keep Caydon for back up duties. Cheers
Maybe that’s why Primeau is playing tonight, showcase him lol
