  1. This is dumb. Keep the draft the same! It's perfect. How about get rid of shootouts and ad con ot in reg season? Something we almost all want?

  2. hey lego you should make a video about Hunter Brzustewicz being tied for first in points in the ohl for all skaters

  3. yeah lowering the age to UFA would be good but teams should get a trade off for that like being able to remove a bad contract once every 3-4 years or something for players that will not or don't perform up to their expectation. Vancouver is pretty bad for it in Benning's time with countless horrible contracts. So basically a contract termination for someone who cannot perform to the contract they sign. Gives incentive for players to try to perform to the best of their ability.

  4. I think all American sports should adopt the European model. Add Pro/Rel and get rid of drafts

  5. Kids have to be "told where to play"? Tough luck. Its the least hardship any of these guys ever have to go through. Even at absolute minimum salary they make way more than anyone out there busting there asses for life.

  6. don't put timelines on the scouts in 2nd and later rounds, just to please the fans (remember its not about the fans).

  7. I would say watch "inside the den" about the Detroit Lions. For the past 3 seasons they dedicated 1 or two episodes to the NFL draft. You can kind of see how that plays out and it would probably interest you to see that process and think of how that would translate to the NHL draft. Food for thought if you have a few minutes down time.

  8. why would top ranked prospects want to be drafted to a team that already has their positions locked up for 8 years?

  9. I can see removing the draft being both good and bad… it sound great to players.. until you realize a few other facts then you can see a team step on their own cranks… first.. right now.. just look at how many draft picks are used and those players,UNSIGNED are sent back to Jr’s or their europe team on loan… whe suddenly you can sign a guy like Bedard… well how many more can you get… for a few years, the atractive cities will probably reap huge benefits… until they start to reach cap and contract limits then suddenly you can see where in a year… they can’t sign anyone because they don’t have a free spot to slot a contract. Then the bottom feeders would reap… and don’t allow try-out deals.. you either sign them.. or pass..

  10. "big changes coming soon"…not really…its a memo they sent to see if teams are interested (hope they are not…)

  11. Worth noting not having a draft does not work in Europe as well as she claims. Bayern Munich have won the German Bundesliga for the past 11 years straight. Would hate to be a fan of any other German soccer club

  12. Trust me buddy, Montreal is not a destination players would voluntarily go to 😂 Nobody wants to play in Canada, especially not with Trudeau in power

  13. I strongly prefer the onsite draft. The challenges of all teams together keep it interesting and fun.

  14. European soccer is boring , the same teams always win the other teams are like farm teams for one or two teams in the league. No one else has a chance to win. A German friend of mine said in his country Bayern-Munich always wins, where is the interest in that. The women who suggested that is all wrong. As I now live in Portugal the same applies to Portugal ,of about 15 teams only Porto,Benfica and Sporting have a chance to win and they are picked over by the other big clubs in Europe. Competitively soccer is boring in Europe. We don't need that in North America.

  15. It seems that separating the draft and free agency by another week or so would be better for the team management staffs as well as YouTube video makers and others who publicize the sport. I'm not really sure what the downside would be.

Perhaps moving the draft earlier would be a problem because there wouldn't be enough time between the end of the playoffs and the draft? Would moving free agency later require renegotiating of present contracts to extend them for another week? In the second case, that is more of a problem in theory than in practice, so I would hope that the NHL and the NHLPA could get together and figure out how to get this done.

  16. Here’s a crazy thought . Have free agency open a week before the draft . I think you would see more trades at the draft. Just a thought

  17. Nhl draft stinks, and is completely boring. The nhl still conducts its self like a child compared to other professional sports
