Will it last at their current level? Of course not, Debrincat won’t score over a goal per game and 2 points per game, for example.

But I think this is the coming out party for the Red Wings to say ‘We’re back, watch out’. They’re not a joke anymore, and not a win you can just pencil in.

Wings are a tough matchup now with elite skill at the top of the lineup and one of the deepest teams in the league. Focus all your attention on Larkin/Debrincat, and Raymond, Compher, Rasmussen, Copp, Perron, Fabbri, Berggren, etc will make you pay. Spread your attention to everyone, and Larkin and Debrincat will find more openings and make you pay. Gone are the days when a team’s strategy against Detroit could be summed up as ‘neutralize Larkin’, and be totally viable.

Dead Things era 2.0 is gone now, bring on the next golden era, the second coming of the Yzer Man. 🙌

  3. Will a 137 point pace with multiple players on 100+ point paces last

    Absolutely not

Can we ride this heater as long as possible so when the inevitable regress to the mean occurs we have a buffer that will allow us to remain in the playoff race later into the season, absolutely

  4. Scoring well. Goalie play improved. Not sure if defense has meshed as units yet but encouraging.

Other teams will start playing a much more defensive game against the Wings moving forward. Goals will slow down, but that goes for the other team as well.

I still think even once the goals slow down that the Wings have more than enough talent on the roster to win more games than they lose as the season goes on.

We need more depth. I was hoping another veteran or two. I’m scared when Larkin and Debrincat stop producing.

Yes. 81–1-0 is the floor for expectations with multiple players getting 100 point seasons. Anything less than that fire yzerman and lalonde 💯💯💯

What’s sustainable to me is strategy and I like our approach. Burning our 2nd line as a defensive unit against the top matchups has freed up our 1st and 3rd to get better matchups. Joey Vs jump has added a new wrinkle to our 3rd. Players like Kostin and Fischer will continue to pay dividends on our 4th. Our D is even coming together. As long as Newsy continues to get buy in this team can be competitive throughout the season.

I mean the athletic is pay for click bait. The dude is literally paid by the fans to write articles and provide click bait. So many feed into this dude’s bs and never stops amazing me. His opinion is no more or less important than yours or the next person’s opinion. The only difference is again he is paid to provide opinions. Nothing on the athletic has proven helpful and all the stats and information about the team is available for free 🆓 on NHL.com or DetroitRedwings.com.

Don’t worry someone will repost every comment or article from Max and the athletic to here. This way everyone can be, click bait junkies of the athletic 💩

I’m probably being greedy but I want the Wings to get their first 50 in 50 player this year. Keep it going and get those 50 goals Cat!
