Silver lining of tonight’s game:
4th line still looked great, and Yegor got his first for the C of Red. Rebound and come back Tuesday!
Total 60 minute disaster. We killed off all their powerplays and still allowed 6 fucking goals. What are we even doing out there. If these guys cant right the ship in the next few weeks, we may be looking at a long term franchise disaster with our outlook. We have no elite young talent who we can build around, and even if we did, these Huberdeau and Kadri contracts aint going anywhere.

This team is fucking bad.
I can’t see how anyone can defend huberdeau or Kadri’s contracts. They aren’t just meh, they fucking suck out there.
And then we want to extend hanifin with this roster lol. They’ll be pulling 15k fans by New Years at this rate.
Absolutely shameful performance. I try to stay positive and supportive but that was probably most piss poor effort by this team I’ve seen in a long time. Fucking awful.

The news that we are about to extend Hanifin paired with such a disappointing start to the season may be an all time low for me as a Flames fan.

Well, we lost 4 out of the 5 games on the trip. Managed to piss away two games we should have won in classic Flames hockey fashion. And end up with 3 out of a possible 10 points.
It’s a piss off as a fan to see the sloppiness, lack of care and apathy that this team plays with. Wtf do they even do at practice?

Why do players play better when they arent on the flames??? Two 100 point scorers do absolutely nothing as soon as they get to the flames.

This needed to happen, for several reasons.
1. Ideally, this will wake them the fuck up to realize that if they want to be anything this season they need to ramp up their compete level, it needs to be absolutely bare minimum the same it was against the Jets and Sabres. This team wins by committee and if you want to be part of the team and like to win, contribute
2. If they don’t get fired up after getting embarassed then it’s good the meltdown is happening now so Conroy can start thinking about the future of this team
3. Vladar aint it, we have known it for a long time and this should warrant Wolf a game and a chance to prove he can’t be sent down anymore
I’m not really even mad or disappointed, they absolutely deserved to get spanked. You don’t win in this league if you show up every three games. Maybe they go on a run from here, maybe they falter. Who the fuck even knows with this team
Can I be honest, I feel bad for the young Flames fans. I got to watch a good chunk of Iggy and Kipper’s primes. Then afterwards came Gaudreau, Monahan and Tkachuk. Who’s the star players they have to look up to? Cause Huby seemed to have left his talent in South Beach
That was fucking awful. Failing to accept easy passes. Missing the net every other shot attempt. No back pressure on rush chances. Total lapses on D zone coverage. Just total lack of focus.
Everybody fucking sucked. I’ll give some stick taps to Sharangovich because he was about the only player who looked like they belonged out there.

This should be curtains on Vladar as a Flame imo. Yeah, he made a couple nice saves today, but most of those goals were pretty bad. At the end of the day he had a sub 0.800 sv%. That’s a nope from me. Get Wolf up here before he goes Matt Philips on us.
Blow it up man. We got to see in real time today how building up from blue chip prospects with a sprinkle of hockey trades can turn a team around. This band-aid patch work of a “team” is not only not going to win anything but they a painful to watch. Trade and retain salary of all these ufa’s for blue chip prospects and we might have a chance of being good when the new barn opens up
Die hard fan. I’m not sure I can do 82 games of this. Detroit had fun. Looked like they needed to get a goal every shift. Flames looked like they were trying to keep their head above water. I honestly don’t know what to do with this team
Huburdeau still doesn’t look good. Last year is looking like his normal, not a one year blip. With that and the Kadri contract this teams outlook isn’t very good. Thanks Tre.
