Welcome I had to mute the flames fan page on Facebook, because I couldn't handle all of the mouth breathers losing their shit 3 games in to the season
"Stick with the guy", he ain't going anywhere. Who would take him?
Come on Flames fans. You are creating all this shit. Ok you lost your 2 big stars last year. They could have stayed but they did not want to. Now you have Huberdeau and Kadri. Must I remind you that the organisation begged them to sign. They are part of you team + they want to play for your team but THEY ARE NOT GAUDREAU AND TKACHUK. Seriously, the only thing you should care about is that your team wins games. I' m sick of hearing all the time how much money they make. These 2 players are pros and they know how to handle themselves and I'm quite certain they will give you there best… In my opinion Flames are off to a very good start. All the negative talk around these players is ridiculous, useless and unnecessary (especially at this early point in the season)
It sounds like people are only complaining about this game cause the first 3 games this year he has 3 points so
This vid in a nutshell: Sasha Barkov is still underrated
I learned to love Johnny hockey last season and im loving even more this season
It's Sutter's fault! Right? fake flames fans that have the maple leaf and Montreal jerseys under your Flames jersey.
35 years from now, Sutter will still have more Cups then the Flames organization.
Buy out Huberdeau so we can re-sign him in Florida where he belongs…
Canadians just need to fan harder. Get even further up in players shit. Grip the stick even tighter. That will bring the cup back to Canada
having to move to Calgary would fuck anyone up for at least a few years he prob has PTSD.
nah he looks awful. he cant even make simple passes and his 3 points so far this season have been luck (deflected goal + an assist he got by hitting the post on the empty net). he doesn't drive the play or do anything at a high level and he makes 10.5 mil. we're toast until his contract is over
Hubey will get flipped at the deadline. Stay tuned.
New coach, new system… Give it time. It will click.
The flames bottled it again
Huberdeau waits until the last 10 minutes of the game to start making plays I don’t get it. He has so much potential but plays so passively
I've never seen the appeal of Huberdeau. How does he even get mentioned in the conversation when talking about "elite" players? He needs a career year to earn his contract. Maybe multiple career years. He's been overvalued for more than a decade in fantasy hockey and possibly real life as well. In a 12 year career he only posted one season of numbers that equalled what was expected of him. Now it may seem like I'm crapping on him, but that's not it at all. I'm just saying that Huberdeau and the hockey world need to get real with who he really is. He's a skilled hockey player that's not worth 10 million a year and he can't win you a hockey pool or a Stanley Cup… just sayin…
As bad as their paycheques are, just remember that the Oilers pay Nurse $9.5 mill to snow angel in front of the net and constantly be out of position on goals.
Hey man! You guys have better records than the Oilers! 🤣🤣😂😂
McDavid scored a goal tonight lol
Its the altitude, man. Calgary is like 3000ft above Miami. Dudes been training at sea level for over a decade now. No doubt he hasnt been able to train as hard or long and therefore has lost strength and endurance. Same deal with Kadri coming from Toronto. Research shows VO2 Max can drop fairly significantly at 1000m (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16311764/).
At 30+ years old a pro athlete isn’t typically making leaps and bounds improving their performance (talking raw physical performance, not skill). They’ll improve under optimal circumstances (for their genetics/physiology) otherwise they maintain or decline.
Not to mention the psychology of an aging pro athlete experiencing declination of performance, regardless of if they’re able to adapt to the changes these guys are experiencing.
Talk to panthers fans and they’ll tell you he’s an average player apart from his 115 point season. I want very badly to be wrong about this, but I predict he never cracks 75 points ever again
Its not just those 2. This team just only ever thinks defense in the 3rd period. They just hunker down in their own zone and try to run out the clock regardless of the score. Calgary is going to break the ot loss record this year.
Even as an oilers fan, I'll say that its an 82 game season. Huberdeau will find his stride eventually. Much as i hate to pump flames tyres, i think he'll turn out fine. Khadri on the other hand… not sure yet.
Kadri was actively a hindrance on Monday!
Just over a season or so ago Pettersson was having a slow start, not shooting the puck, bobbling the puck, looking slow… People were saying he's done. Trade him while he still has some value etc…
Half a season later. Literal top 10 players in the league.
Hubby is Calgary's Darnell Nurse contract. Good luck with that. lol
I've watched Huberdeau play since his rookie season, and seeing him grow into a 100+ point player. As a Panthers fan, I'm beyond thrilled to have Tkachuk. I feel for Huby because I know the talent's there, and it's just not come together. I want him to do well because he's a great guy, but I think he was woefully unprepared for the transition to a Canadian market
