You haven't talked of Mailloux, the most controversial leftover piece from Bergevin, Mailloux has the potential to be a top 2 defenseman for the Habs, lots of upside potential, he should play in the Juniors again next season.
NO ILYA KOVALCHUK???????? otherwise good stuff
I know Hughes signed him but Jordan Harris was picked by Bergevin and he has a lot of potential to be a big part of the future in Montréal. He should be on the list. I'd put him on before Jake Evans, who I also like.
i still say that the worst move that bergevin made was the sergachev trade. i know that no one is perfect but this one is a no brainer. when you build a team it's from the net out. sergachev on that blueline with this rebuild would be explosive. bergie did make some good moves but this one is a real misfire.
Igor Era for Detroit!
Where is Harris on this list? Mailloux? I like Roy too but he is behind these 2.
It took Bergevin 10 years to get a decent backup goalie.
14:08 I would Love to have Max Domi back!! GO HABS GO!!
Why are we traveling down this dusty road of irrelevance?.. is Bergie a friend of yours?.. lol
For the honorable mentions I would personnally give one to Kovalchuk. Very short time yes but such fun time watching him played and we still got a good return for him when nobody wanted him just a few months before. Also Lehkonen gotta be on this list. Such a crucial part of the Stanley Cup run and now to got Barron in return! Bergy was an underapprecriated GM in my opinion he did a lot of great things
Jesperi Kotkaniemi wasn't in the honorable mentions? Seeing all the players you put in that not sure why KK wasn't there, he definitely was a big part of our cup run
I am very interested to see what JD can do on the ice with MSL as the coach… hopefully that untapped potential can finally be tapped… GHG
The Sergachev trade horrible
Suzuki is not a first line center i the best NHL teams
Hans willl suk for along time
i dont agree with suzuki. he shoulnt be on the list, he never wanted him he wanted Glass. say tkx to vegas old gm not bergevin lmao
A player I really hope they keep and who I think while progressing slower than hoped is going to be a solid asset is Ryan Poehling. Enjoyed the show as always Dekes ! Hoping for more over the off season !
Bergevin most of the trades he made were not the problem they were good he did not lose many of them . Now when talking about the draft that is another story . Go back since he became the GM not many of these players around . Rocket in Laval you look at the team and how many of them will play with the Habs in the future 3 4 guys the most if we are lucky and not many stars there either . As for the ones drafted from the past 3 years i will wait before having an opinion on these guys .
Two most relevant signings going forward…..those long term, bad value contracts of Gallagher and Price and you might include Anderson
what bergevin left were anchor contracts for byron, armia, gallagher, drouin, over paid plumbers, and over pay for price and petry although both have value .
This guy looks like a Wish version of Phil Kessel
How can you do a feature on a top 10 list and yet admit you dont know or didnt look up stats for some of them?
Price defection 2 weeks before season opening cost Berg and Duch jobs
No big splash from bergevin except in the brutal contract category, bergevin has done more damage than houle, how do you recover from the contract he handed out if you’re Hughes? Gallagher, petry, price, Weber, Byron, Hoffman drouin and even Anderson . 6 outta those guy are untradable , the next five years Hughes won’t have any money resource and will be handicapped by those horrendous moves by bergevin
M.B and his pro scouting team were incredible at finding value in "unwanted" players. Danualt and Byron probably being the best examples. Byron is probably the best waiver pickup of all time. Multiple 20goal seasons with the habs and a leader in the room.
It's really to bad they couldn't draft target/draft high end talent from pretty much his first draft to 2018. I'd say 2019 to 2021 they did a much better job. I liked berg but it was time to go. 10years is an amazing run as a pro sports gm.

Great picks you got there! I totally agree on the first four, but I'm not sure Anderson should be that high. I like him cause he brings alot of energy, but he's so inconsistent at the point that I don't think he's gonna stick around for long.
I don't think they should put unnecessary pressure on Nick Suzuki's by giving him the C , they should wait 'til he develop to his full potential and get a bit more mature, I'm not a big fan of naming young players as captain even though sometimes it works
Nice list! Though it was a quick cup of coffee and don't expect it on the list, one personable honourable mention was Kovalchuk. In that short time, it was a fun time
Bergevin had his moments, but 2 things that I didn't like about him. First he seemed to like to make trades for the sake of making trades. He got rid of a lot of assets for virtually nothing. Second, he hitched his wagon to Trevor Timmons, who's draft record, especially in the first round, was pi$$ awful.
kovalchuk ? it didn't last long but still…
So tired of hearing about Drouins "untapped potential"…he's 27
Great video overall!
Nick Suzuki defensive upside? You don’t know hockey just by saying that.
Bergevin was dope
Bergevin’s downfall is his giant ego. He was also the king of the 4th liners.
Romanov needs to work on his defensive game because he is good for 1-2 turnovers in the defensive zone a game
bergevin did a great job.. not many mistakes he made some good trade and sign some nice player too
Greta video maybe you can do a top defensive pool for the Canadiens
Dvorak's trade price was high, on Habs for acquiring him.
