Avery was one of the biggest idiots in the NHL this century. He embarrassed himself on & off the ice until he wore out his welcome and faded away landing in the dirty dustbin of NHL antagonizers. He was suspended almost immediately after making vulgar pre-game comments in Calgary and his career was never the same after that. He was his own worst enemy.
Rangers fans defending Avery was always the funniest thing ever. His own teammates hated him. He is and was just the worst human being to ever play the sport in the modern era. Easily the least respected hockey player in existence. But not really surprising that Rangers fans defend him. That fanbase has a lot of similar human beings
